So, I'm still meandering through games, although I did sort of binge on Dragon Age Inquisition exclusively for about five days. I thought I ODed on that, but the next night I was playing it again. Jeez.

So, I loaded up Jade Empire on my iPad, and played about an hour of that. It's old, but it's still a Bioware game, so it's got good voice acting and a good story. However, the black and white moral choices are a little quaint.

The soundtrack is exceptional.

I bought Shiness about when it came out, but never touched it. I tried it the other day. I didn't love it, but it's pretty cool. I like the combat, but it's a low budget game, and it shows it. It's sort of PS2/N64 action platformer. I do like it, but I don't think I'm gonna be motivated to play again.

One game I will play again is Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments. I'm a pretty big Sherlock Holmes stories, and have read most of the stories multiple times, so it's a joy to play this. It's quite well done too, for a more low budget game. It definitely feels like a PC game from an earlier era, but it's also quite immersive and intellectually interesting.

I'm still making progress in RDR and GTA, but a little slower. I've been on a fantasy kick mostly.

Are you going to play The Great Ace Attorney collection when it comes out?  Sherlock Holmes is sort of in it. :)

I don't know, but I would definitely like to play more detective games in general. Laughing

Phoenix Wright games are basically detective games.  And they're awesome.

Lately, I've been feeling very overwhelmed by all the game choices I have just on Xbox One through Game Pass and Games with Gold. I almost don't want to play anything because having to choose makes my head spin.

Yeah, it can be overwhelming. I'm kind of eagerly anticipating Microsoft's Cloud based gaming service, XCloud, but I know I'll be ever more overhwhelmed than I am now.

I've tried to stream Xbox games on my phone but they are laggy as heck. Maybe it's my phone or the internet connection though.

I tried Jade Empire during my brief stint as a 360 owner, but I have never been able to get into Bioware games at all. My typical experience is to play through the intro, lose interest, and move onto something else. When I want a western RPG, Bethesda (pre Fallout 76, anyway) and CD Projekt usually fit the bill a lot better. I remember Shiness from a few years back. Looks a little like Tail Concert or Solatorobo.

Yeah, Bioware games are definitely an acquired taste. KOTOR was the first I ever played, though I've retroactively checked out Baldur's Gate and stuff. If it hadn't been star wars, maybe I wouldn't have gotten into KOTOR, the combat sucked. I'm kind of the opposite, I've tried to get into other western rpgs like Skyrim and Witcher, but I never really get into it. But I keep trying! Laughing

My favorite western RPG company is actually Obsidian. New Vegas is the best Fallout, South Park was good, the Outer Worlds is great. It's too bad Obsidian got swallowed up by the Redmond anaconda along with Bethesda.
