Games Beaten
-Metroid: Zero Mission (GBA)
I played Zero Mission in preparation for Dread coming out in October. I remember it being very good and, despite the rose colored glasses, my fond memories largely held up. The GBA allows SNES levels of beauty and Zero Mission is a joy to behold. Sounds great too. The action and exploration are streamlined and fast, perhaps even to a fault. There's never a time when you feel like you really need to explore. It's a short game, too, and I found the Zero Suit stealth section a little frustrating. I don't remember that part being annoying. All that said, though, it's an excellent remake.
-Picross S2 (Switch)
Picross S2 is largely more of the same and that's not necessarily a bad thing. The interface is intuitive and there are lots of puzzles. My complaints remain the same as the first game, namely that the pictures are pretty mundane (have some fun, Jupiter!) and they are recycled for the Mega Picross puzzles. Again, I did not feel any motivation to work through all those. But they did add Clip Picross mode where a very large picture is broken into a bunch of puzzles. That was cool.
**Platinum Alert!**
I decided to go for the Platinum trophy for Sakura Wars (PS4), not realizing how long it would actually take. By the time that became apparent I was already half way there and decided to just follow through. So, not one I'd recommend lol but I did get it!
Games Bought
The only games we got in August were birthday presents. My oldest son got New Pokémon Snap (Switch). My older of my daughters got Pretty Princess Party (Switch), which looks like a streamlined take on the decoration aspect of Animal Crossing. She seems to like it.
Games Being Played
-The Great Ace Attorney (Switch)
After a slow start on my part, I'm finally into the second chapter.
-New Pokémon Snap (Switch)
I've taken this slowly so far. Only got a couple levels opened up but I like the game. Very low stress.
-Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate (Switch)
Made it to Hunter Rank 4. It's time to really start worrying about weapons and armor.
-Destiny 2 (PS4)
A new season has started and—I swear!—this time I'm going to keep up with the weekly challenges and goals. Probably.
