This past week was the 25th birthday of the Nintendo 64! It came out (here in the states) on September 29, 1996. What a great console. So, the big question is, what is your favorite game and/or memory of the N64? Please share!

We got the N64 when I was probably about seven years old. The first game we got was Mario Kart 64, what a game! It blew me away (and I had no idea there was a Mario Kart on the SNES until many years later). Everyone knows the N64 was the party console (4 players!) and those are my favorite memories of it. Playing MK 64, Mario Party, and Smash Bros. with my friends were the absolute best times as a kid. I would spend the night at my friend's house and we would play games like Smash Bros. and Bomberman 64. The Playstation couldn't do that.

My favorite memory of the N64 was Super Mario 64. It was like nothing else I played abd today is still one of my favorite Mario games. My other favorites were Mario Kart, Zelda, Star Fox, and Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon.

I got the N64 day one when I was in college.  Mario 64 blew us away and was truly revolutionary.  Other favorites include Banjo-Kazooie and its sequel, the Zelda games, Kirby 64, Mario Kart 64, Diddy Kong Racing, and so much more.

However, the N64 was also the first console that caused me to buy a competitor's.  I was reviewing games for The Dallas Morning News then, and the sparse N64 release schedule wasn't cutting it.  So I bought a PlayStation and that was one of the best gaming purchases I ever made.  After that I was reviewing games on the PlayStation left and right.  Don't get me wrong, i still like the N64, I just ended up liking the PSOne more.

I was always looking for more co-op or multiplayer games to play with my friend. Some of my favorites on N64 were Hexen, Destruction Derby 64, Duke Nukem 64, and Turok Rage Wars.

Of course there were others like Diddy Kong Racing and Pokemon Snap I really liked. And Star Wars Rogue Squadron.

My friend and I also happened to have multiple copies of Clayfighters 63 1/3: Sculptor's Cut we got at a Blockbuster back in the 90s not knowing at all it would turn out to be so rare. We just liked the goofy humor of it and the claymation graphics. I think we ended up selling all of them a year ago though. I kind of regret that but what can you do. Can't keep everything especially when you can get hundreds of dollars for them.

I bought after it was already phased out. And only for Ocarina of Time and Perfect Dark. Which were great and worth it.

I had some truly great times with the n64. It might not have had a ton of games, but it had some really good ones.
