Hello everyone, how are you?

Another year means one thing and that's new games to play! There's a good number of games I'm really looking forward to so let's see what those games are...

Sonic Frontiers

Honestly, these past few years haven't been kind to Sonic when it came to his 3D games. It seems Sonic Team hit a wall after Sonic Generations. We've had Sonic Lost World, which I think was an alright game. Sonic Boom was a mess that we won't speak of. Sonic Forces, eh, not as bad as Boom but still not good. Heck, even the remake of Sonic Colors was mixed. The only good Sonic game that we had was Sonic Mania which was incredible. Sonic Frontiers will be Sonic's new 3D game that'll release later this year, which will have Sonic explore an open world, which many have compared to Breath of the Wild. We haven't seen much to be honest but I am cautiously optimistic that it might be good.

Gotham Knights

It's been a while since WB Montreal worked on anything, Batman related or otherwise. Last time they worked on something was making dlc for Batman: Arkham Knight, which we'll talk about at a later date. So now they are bringing us a new Batman game called Gotham Knights. Interesting twist here is that you don't play as Batman but rather as 4 members of the Bat Family. You can play as Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing, and Red Hood and each of them have ther own playstyle and abilities. Rumor has it that they were originally working on a sequel to Arkham Knight but that got scrapped and there's another rumor that they are also working on another game. I hope this doesn't turn out like that Avengers game but we'll see.

Suicide Squad Kills the Justice League

 

One thing I'm getting tired of is evil Superman stories, like does no one know how to write the character that well? I suppose it is hard to write stories about the strongest character in fiction. Rumor has it that Rocksteady was working on a Superman game but Warner Bros. rejected it or something. Still, Rocksteady is working on this one so I have no doubt the game will be good. Plus I like the idea of playing as four of the members of the Suicide Squad and I love that they all play differently. I'm not a fan of Harley's hair in the game, I'm not the biggest fan of twintails, but I would of preferred Harley's iconic twintails over her new hairstyle. Hopefully you can change it in the game. I still have my doubts that this one is releasing this year and I still need to buy a PS5, but they did say 2022 so we'll see.

Sifu

This game is about a kung fu student who is out for revenge to take down 5 assassins who killed his family. The game is a beat 'em up that plays in a third-person perspective which has a strong emphasis on is combat. One thing I love is that you have this magic talisman that revives you from a fatal injury in combat, the only downside is that you age everytime you get revived.You become stronger, but at the cost of less health. I think that is such a neat mechanic, it's definitely something I haven't seen in a game before. I also like that the game won't be easy. I'm really looking forward to this one.
