Blog a Day #3
Hello everyone, how are you?
Just like the last time, here is part 2 of games I'm looking forward to this year...
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle was one of the most unexpected crossovers ever. It caught people by surprise because many people aren't find of the Rabbids. However the game was actually in fact such an inexpected surpise, as in it is actually really good. It seems like the game sold well since we are getting a sequel and it looks like it'll just be as good, if not, better than the original game. It looks like it'll take place in space, which is giving me huge Super Mario Galaxy vibes and the music is being composed by Grant Kirkhope himself. I'm really excited for that. Hope Rosalina is a playable character though.
Bayonetta 3
Everyone's favorite stylish witch is back and better than ever. After years of not showing anything from the game other than being reassured that it was not cancelled and that it was still in development, we finally got a glimpse of Bayonetta 3. Honestly, the game looks flashy, stylish, and fantastic. I really love Bayonetta's new look as well, she looks fantastic. Not sure which design is my favorite. I really hope this game does well.
Splatoon 3
One of the most surprising announcements when it was revealed. What is interesting is that Splatoon 3 is releasing on the Switch. You'd think they would save it for the Switch's successor. Either the sales of Splatoon 2 dried up or they felt that they wanted to release it now, I have no idea. Story-wise, Splatoon 3 takes place after Splatoon 2's final Splatfest which involved Order vs. Chaos, which Chaos won, hence the state of the world. Splatoon has some interesting and dark lore behind it and I'm really interested the direction the game takes from there. But all in all the game will be fun and I'm looking forward to the new gameplay changes.
Breath of the Wild 2
The long awaited sequel to 2017's Game of the Year. Who isn't excited about this game? One thing I always said was that the Zelda team worked so hard making the first game, considering how long the game was in development for. I'm sure they took years making its engine that it would be a waste for them not to use it again, just like with Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. But here we are. We get multiple Zelda games released on consoles often and such but it's not often we get a direct sequel released on the same system.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land
For years Kirby fans have wanted a 3D Kirby game. I mean yes, Kirby's Air Ride was a 3D game. but not a mainline Kirby game. Apparently a cancelled Kirby game for the Gamecube was or looked like it was going to be in 3D. Unfortunately that one never released. But we finally have a 3D Kirby game. It looks like Super Mario Odyssey, but with Kirby. However I feel like this game will be far better than Odyssey. It just looks so much fun and I really love the visuals and it looks like it will have a ton of fun things to do. It looks like HAL Labs are really pushing the Switch here in terms of what it can do. This is by far the game I'm looking forward to the most this year.
The year just started and while I'm excited for all these games, there' still more to come and that makes it even more exciting. But that's it for this list. Thanks for reading and...
