Pitch: Reclaim sections of land from alien invaders.

Volfied is basically Qix with needless sci-fi trappings. There are lots more enemies and even though you can get a brief shooting power up and can supposedly kill enemies by enclosing them, I found it really difficult, both because of the enemies and the higher percentage complete you need to beat the level. This is a case of taking a pure gameplay experience and overly complicating it.

I could not find a version on youtube that looked exactly like the one on the Taito Legends collection. This version, for instance, is longer vertically and not as cramped as the one I played.

I like the scifi take on Qix. Makes it more interesting, but, yeah, it's the same gameplay.

So this was made by Taito rather than an imitator. The Gals' Panic games were made by Kaneko, a publisher that went defunct before the turn of the century.

Like I said before, my brother Jeff really liked Qix. So he took a liking to this game, too.
