Viewtiful Joe games were great. A bit too hard, but still great. There are a lot of funky tunes in those games. None of it was particularly memorable to me, but once you hear a song from the game, you know where it's from, so they are recognizable.

You guys know that I love the Viewtiful Joe games (I just replayed the first two games this past year, they’re still great). One reason is because the music is so awesome. While the first game had great music, the second game built on it and had an even better OST. The concept for Viewtiful Joe is basically a parody of the old Japanese Super Sentei (Power Rangers in the West). It’s very goofy and funny at times, but the music is in a thick rock style that keeps the game exciting as it constantly pumps out epic tunes. The second game has more memorable songs than the first game, but overall the music is simply better.
Memoir of an Invincible Monster
This is the theme for level 3, which takes place at some kind of movie studio. It starts with a pumping rhythm that doesn’t stop until the 32 second mark where it gets any heavier. Then a techno sound takes over with a very simple melody, but that driving rhythm never goes away. Guitars will accent the music every now and then, and pay attention to certain noises which jump into the song for no apparent reason other than to just make it even more fun to hear.
Boss: Frost Tiger
Easily the most difficult boss in the game, Frost Tiger is the boss of level 5, and he’s not messing around. This theme is intense, epic, and nerve-racking. Guitars carry a strong melody that evokes dread. They’re backed up by bass piano and a heavy dance beat. The second part of the song has a lone guitar taking the spotlight and then going crazy before the song loops. It’s a great boss theme, one of the best from the whole series.
Starship Viewties
This is the theme for the last level, and it’s pretty epic! Guitars lead the way in an exciting heroic theme that (once again) doesn’t let up. The level takes place in space, and so there are some spacey sounds that give that feeling. Also notice the guy yelling “Wee-oooh” at certain moments, which okay, why not? While the song is short, it’s still great, and gives off an exciting and inspiring feel—you can do it!
True Heroes
Okay, guys, this is it! This is one of my favorite songs in all of video games. The first time I heard this it blew me away. This final boss theme is so unbelievably epic and memorable. The guitars carry the melody with gusto, backed up by steady rhythms and a solid bass line. The song evokes a real sense of heroism—it’s literally empowering! Then the percussion takes center stage briefly for some exciting successive beats. But wait! Before the song loops there is a moment when the organ takes over with a somber melody backed up by voices. This is the perfect calm before the storm because next the song loops back to the thrilling kickass melody with the guitars. It’s so good, unbelievably good!
Happier Ending
After beating this challenging game, you’re awarded with a fantastic ending theme that manages to bring back several themes from the game (I’d list them, but you might not know what I’m talking about). Twice the guitars will come in with a really heroic theme that just makes you feel good. It’s a satisfying conclusion to a great game.
