Risen 2 is not what you would think compared to Risen, Risen 2 is a Pirate rpg and has no connection to Risen besides the Character, it is not a sequel but a seperate game all togther, and i know you have all have read the bad reveiws on this game and the way they slam the games combat, well to be honest its not what they say it is, it starts off a little wimpy and it is hard as all hell at the beginning but once you start to level up and get rolling the combat system gets much much better.

The game is a fun game and the fact that your a pirate makes this a good game. This game is hard especially at the very beginning and this us why it got such crappy reveiws, and the sad thing is, there loosing potential gamers by giving reveiws thats not acurate, and not to get into a thing about reveiws again but players who are reading reveiws on rpgs are not the same who dont play rpgs writing the reveiw.

So at any rate this is a good rpg its not without issues but not enough to make the game suck like some of the reveiws eoukd have you believe.

The game kinda lost me at "Pirate" since I figured all you would be doing in the game is buckling some swash as it were. :D  I see from your screen shot though that there are lizard monster dudes and I like them.

do u get a boat and are allowed to sail around?  I like games like that (like Wind Waker).  I like sailing, but am too afraid of it in real life. Tongue Out

I don't know, I think some reviews were harsh but the consensus kind of matched my valuation of the game. It should be noted that it got a 70 score out of 100 on metacritic which should be considered a good score, it's just a shame we live in a age where that number is de-valued by the saturation of 80 and 90 scores. I think there's definitely something there for some people, For me though, it was a disappointment, when compared to it's predeccesor.

I bought it day one and played maybe ten hours or so before the fighting system really frustrated me. I loved the story, locations, graphics, and dialog but, just like Risen 1, I had some real trouble getting a handle on effective fighting. I ended up poor and beaten up again. At some point I'd like to go back to the game and read up on exactly how the fight system is supposed to work because I really liked everything else about the game.

I own the first Risen game and I liked what I played. However, I got stuck and couldn't figure out how to move forward. The sad part is that I was where I needed to be, but the game just wouldn't progress. I'm not sure if it may have glitched out or perhaps I'm just missing something?

The first Risen did have some small issues and was a tough game at parts, i never had a glitch to keep me from progressing so maybe your at one of thoughs head scratching points lol.
