I’ve cooked you all up a Sunday Easter Brunch with all sorts of game reviews I’ve recently written over at GamerDad.com.  Please click on the links and read as many as you can, and maybe even post a ‘like’ or comment or two.  I’d really appreciate it.  OK let’s begin!

Pac-Man Goes to Brunch

As you all might know, I’m a HUGE fan of Pac-Man.  Last year, I saw some Pac-Man figurines you could import that had Pac-Man and the ghost monsters surrounded by brunch and breakfast food related items.  I thought this was a pretty unique concept and really wanted them, but they were kind of expensive.  I asked for them for Christmas and didn’t think I’d get them, but I did!  So now let’s take a look at them!

River City Girls Zero (Switch)

In Japan there is a popular series of games starring Kunio-kun.  Kunio is a hot-blooded high school student who sometimes gets into fights and trouble, but he always stands up for his friends and against bullies.  And when he’s not doing that, he competes in sports.  Some of these games were brought to the US under name and graphical changes, so if you’ve ever played Renegade, River City Ransom, or Super Dodge Ball, you’ve played a Kunio game and may not have even known it!  A few years ago, game maker WayForward came out with River City Girls, a game that played like River City Ransom, but starred Kunio’s and his pal Riki’s girlfriends as they fought to save their guys!  And now they’ve ported over a River City Ransom sequel that came out on the Super Famicom but never in the US.  In the game, Kunio and Riki have been framed and sent to prison, but they break out and team up with their girlfriends to fight the gang that caused all this.  Supposedly this was the game that inspired WayForward to make River City Girls.  Huh, that’s interesting, I didn’t even know that!  Anyway, WayForward added an intro, cutscenes, and an English translation to the Super Famicom game and called it River City Girls Zero.  It’ll be available on more consoles later, but as of this writing, it’s only available on Switch.

Indiana Jones: The Pinball Adventure (PS4)

Back in the early 90s, game maker Williams made a pinball table based on the iconic Indiana Jones movie franchise.  And now you can play it on Zen Studios’ pinball platforms!

Music Racer: Ultimate (PS4)

Drive down neon laden streets to the beat of the music in Music Racer: Ultimate.  Pick a car and a road and a song and try to collect white dots while avoiding crashing into pillars to increase your combo score.

Pretty Girls Breakers! (PS4)

Unlock outfits for cute anime ladies to wear while you swing a beam sword at a ball to break blocks in Pretty Girls Breakers!  Yeah it’s pretty much a BreakOut or Arkanoid clone

Phantom Breaker: Omnia (PS4)

Phantom Breaker: Omnia is a 2-D one-on-one fighting game with anime styled characters.  Most of them are girls, but there are a few guys in there.  Each one gets a magical weapon from an old man and they battle each other with them in the Story Mode.  There are more than a dozen fighters in all, and include a maid café waitress, robot girl, shrine maiden, and more.

Splash Cars (PS4)

Drive a car around 3-D isometric landscapes as you color the world in Splash Cars.

Plunderer’s Adventures (Switch)

Build up a crew of pixel lady pirates in this tower defense style game that plays a bit like Plants vs. Zombies.  You’ll control a female captain and can move up and down and shoot.  Defend your crew on the left side of the screen by shooting enemy pirates and monsters coming in on the right.

And that’s all for now!  Thanks for reading and posting ‘likes’ and comments on my reviews.  I really appreciate it.  And Happy Easter!  --Cary

Yeah believe it or not, whether it be the games or other products, I like the ghost monsters just as much, if not more than, Pac-Man himself!
