It’s been a long time hasn’t it?

I apologizes for the super long hiatus since I actually sat down and typed out an old form blog. I haven’t forgotten and didn’t mean to neglect posting anything anywhere. I do still enjoy to write now and then but circumstances and situations have kept me from this long time hobby.

For starters I thought I’d give a full recap on what I’ve been up to for the past two years. If any had noticed I didn’t do any form of “Octoberween” activities like I normally do online. No special blogs, no game reviews, no Halloween themed features, not even video weekend post. For that you can thank COVID for that. I came down with it roughly in the middle of September of 2021 which landed me in the hospital’s ICU for a few weeks.

Nearly died. Good times.

Once I was well enough to leave the hospital I had to take time to recuperate.  It took me the rest of 2021 to somewhat recover and a good half of 2022 to have returned back to my usual self. During that time I was lucky I could shower myself, let alone perform physical therapy or anything less than “breathing and eating”.

Slowly I got back into my usual routines of hobby enjoyment. Played some games, posted on social media but anything that took up a lot of mental capacity took me a lot longer to bounce back to. COVID brain they call it. Might as well be Mad Cow Diseased Meat given what it had done to my mental capacities. And don’t get me started on my increased heart rate.

Still it kept me from actually sitting down and typing anything when it came to the long form blog style. Sadly I have to admit that the short form social media posting has spoiled me and I don’t see myself leaving it anytime soon (aside from the possible banning for violating TOS). Still I promised myself that if I had indeed lived/survived COVID I’d make it up to myself by trying to go back to my usual “Octoberween” antics like I have in the past. Last year I missed out on bon fires, pumpkin carving and late night horrorfests so you can say I’m going to try to make up for lost time. Octoberween 2021 was robbed from me and I don’t plan to squander Octoberween 2022.

So does that mean I’ve returned back to my normal blogging antics? Maybe? Why? Well given my brush with death I’ve found myself taking on other tasks that I’ve held off in doing. I’ve been working on an old stories series I wrote back in the day and I’m trying to transcribe it. I’ve also taken on other odd hobbies I’ve been wanting to do for the better part of my years. Some of it technical, some of it hands on, all of it very time consuming. I don’t want to push my body or mind too much but as a result I don’t find myself with a whole lot of free time. But I did promise myself I’d start blogging again. Dedicating at least one day a week to write SOMETHING. I’m still going to try to keep it gaming related since it is still my main passion, even if I find myself gravitating more toward the retro side of gaming than what the new generation offers.

Also when it comes to my blogs I don’t think I’ll spend too much time trying to make sure that it doesn’t have run on sentences, proper grammar structure or even proper spelling. I’m no professional so I’m just going to let the fingers do the talking and hope they still work the best way they can when it comes to conveying my thoughts to keyboard.  And besides if you can understand then that’s all that matters.

Once again I don’t have anything major planned for the means of Octoberween content. I may do a Top 5 Octoberween games of 2022 but I may reset the clock and revive some long lost titles that I wrote about many moons ago when I was at the apex of my blogging prowess. I have ideas but we shall see what comes of them. They may not be all blog format form and mostly short social media posting, either way I plan to make up for lost time when it comes to Octoberween be it small posts or long winded rants on why the Twilight series is a bastardization of vampire lore. Let’s just hope I haven’t forgotten how to use script and enbed coding for the various blog sites I use.

I’ve been gone for far too long. It’s time to sin again.
