I don't know what my top five are off the top of my head but I know I like Super Mario Sunshine quite a bit better than most people do.

Guess I'll have to listen and see if y'all mention some good ones that aren't coming to mind as far as "top 5" worthy for me right this minute!

I'll say this after listening a bit: I prefer the original Sly Cooper because of its linearity ... not really feeling the Crash Bandicoot comparison outside of that though. Those games feel pretty distinct to me.

Thanks so much for listening!  It's been a while since I played Sly Cooper, and I've never been much of a Crash fan.  But the levels in Sly 1 just felt like linear obstacle courses, like Crash, and you didn't get very many hits until you died.  Also stealth, don't like that.  So I didn't play it very long.  But then, this also came out when there was a glut of 3D platformers so I had a lot more choices, and Sly 1 just wasn't going to be one of them.  I hear the sequels are more open, though.

The sequels are definitely more open world but the actual "stealth" in Sly Cooper isn't as slow as actual stealth games and for me it never came anywhere near the difficulty level of a Crash game or disorient me as much as some of those levels ... so I respectfully disagree with that comparison but you're definitely right about both games being linear.

I tend to prefer linear games because they get to the fun part and don't overstay their welcome but I understand the appeal of open world. To each their own. I do think you'd enjoy Sly 2.

I'm sure I'd enjoy Sly 2, but it's hard to play all the games out there! :)

Never would have figured you for a Frank Zappa guy.

My favorite 3-D platformer is still Super Mario 64, with Odyssey being a close second. I actually haven't played a lot of 3D platformers since the N64 era. I would like to see another third-person 3D Metroid game, though. Other M was kind of rough, but it was better than people give it credit for.

I'm not really a Frank Zappa guy, but I have been around for a while and sometimes I know stuff.

I can only think of my desire to play Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time. Very soon it'll be on sale at that price I can't resist.

Never was a big fan of Crash.  Only Crash game I liked was Crash Team Racing.

I never got into Crash either, but this one is by Toys for Bob and so I want to try it. And... I just bought it on sale the other day.

Toys for Bob made some decend kids games back in the day.  And of course they're best known for Skylanders.

By the way, I just recorded another podcast!  This one's about Pokemon!  I hope to edit and post it by next week!

Beenox is also involved. They did the Disney Infinity games if I remember rightly.

I played some of Crash 4 the other day. I was hoping for an open world style game but it's a 2.5D linear platformer. It's good, but I'm a lilttle disappointed because it's not my favorite style of gameplay.

I didn't like Disney Infinity as much as Skylanders.

I agree with that. DI could have been better, but I liked DI 2.0, and the figures look pretty good.

I know the sequels focused more on Marvel and Star Wars.  I'd be more interested in the Star Wars one, but not enough to buy it I guess.

I thought the figures were pretty good. Not as interesting as Skylanders figures, but good. Hulk Buster Iron Man was a great looking figure. Baymax from Big Hero 6 was cool too.

The only Disney Infinity figures I would've liked to have gotten were Sorcerer Mickey and Wreck-It Ralph, as those are some of my favorite Disney charactes.

Sorcerer Mickey is my favorite.
