A Twitch broadcast I did of the first three chapters of Fire Emblem Engage. Spoilers near the end, so be warned.

I really like this game. Its combat is more robust than that of the also-excellent Three Houses. On the other hand, it scales back on the Persona-style features of 3H, such as social links, and it eliminates time management altogether, so your mileage may vary. Plus, graphically it is much improved, with more detailed characters and environments, and little to no slowdown. So far, it is exceeding my expectations and I expect it to be one of my top ten games of the year. At the beginning of the video is an unboxing of the Divine Edition.

As always, subscribe and share if you like what you see! Thanks!

That's a lot of Switch games I see there. I generally go for the strategy titles but I like the graphics on Engage. Maybe I'll give a try sometime.

It's a more old-school FE experience, so it doesn't have the Persona-style time management, and the social links have been dialed back. Its combat engine is much beefier than Three Houses. Overall, 3H is a more polished experience, but Engage is very fun. It was built on Unity rather than Nintendo's usual standard of building its own in-house game engines.

I sometimes find the Fire Emblem games overly complex. Maybe Engage would be more enjoyable after all.
