I hope to see you here more often, though I see you in other places. That said, self-care is key.
Random thoughts after a long absence

Wow, I haven't stopped in here in forever! How is everybody?
I kind of stopped gaming for a while, with the exception of Animal Crossing New Horizons. A lot of it was lack of time, a lot of stress, my shithead cat chewing cables, and mental exhaustion of dealing with too many park visitors/pet store customers and not enough staff to handle things in either location. So I played ACNH, because it's soothing to me. The other issue is that I really should have bought it digital instead of physical, because I'm lazy and it was too much effort to constantly swap out games. I fixed that. I bought ACNH digitally and gave my physical copy to the young son of a friend who got a Switch for Christmas. And lo and behold! I'm knee deep into the first Octopath Traveler game.
My other issue has been that my anxiety levels are fairly high these days. I had it under control until the pandemic started, and I need to work on getting it back under control. My house is a mess, and I never seem to manage the little tasks because everything looks like it's a huge, insurmountable mess, so I just turn a blind eye. People always say "just break it down into small steps". Yeah, well, that doesn't work if you can't find a place to start. I think I might have found a solution, though. I found a website called Level up Life where you can get achievements for doing real life stuff. They have some standard ones, but you can do your own custom ones, too. I just set it up last night, so we'll see, but I have hope. One of the preset achievements is to write an entry in a personal journal or diary. I'm going to consider blogging to fit that criteria. I have two blogs, this one and another one on blogger, and they are both equally neglected. I've been wanting to fix that, so hey, achievements!
And now back to gaming. I've played a lot of point-and-click adventure games that I've found on sale in the Nitendo e-store. Some of them are fun, some of them not so much. I'll do a blog entry at a later date about them. I also played DQ Treasures over the winter. It was a lot of fun for what it was. I think I'm done with t now, though. Again, this will be another blog entry at a later date. I spent a fun chunk of time playing DC Lego Super Villains, it was on sale in the Switch e-store. Kind of wish I'd gotten it for the PS4, because, well, trophies. I might see if I can find a used or sale copy for the PS4 and replay it, because I love trophies and achievements for most games, especially the Lego games.
I'm going to wrap this up now, because I have household achievements to acquire. Until my next blog post (which hopefully won't be another eight or nine months from now!).
