Well good morning and long time no talk. Since the last time I posted here I’ve had some changes in life. The last time I wrote a blog here was a couple of years ago? No idea why I stopped but I did, anyways I am back so let’s do a little catching up
-Last time I wrote to you all I was in Hawaii. That time was good, I spent time with the family, played some games, my Switch got banned from the network (I may have tried some jailbreaking or whatever they call it for the Switch) and overall just kind of fell out of gaming for a bit. I got tired of some games, while others I just casually played.
-I now live in Las Vegas which is kind of crazy. The area where I live feels like a small town but with a 20 minute drive I am on the strip (I’m never on the strip). The closest I get to it is when I am at work. Speaking of work, it’s a job I absolutely love!
It’s weird not being in California but this feels more and more like home. I still don’t know the streets as well as I want, and I really don’t venture out of the area surrounding where I live and certain spots in the valley, but I’m getting better.
-A couple of months ago I went and got a library card and it is wild to see that people have the ability to check out games. There are a bunch of libraries here and the one that services my area is pretty big and there’s a whole section to somewhat modern games.
Ok now for gaming:
In a nutshell I’m not really playing a lot of games, at least as much as I used to. I subscribed to Google’s Game Pass on my Android Tablet, and I have Apple Arcade on my phone. I think combined I spent maybe $80 a year on, and I play random games on both. I also got back into:
Asphalt 9 - Android: I got back into this game mainly due to wanting to collect things in a game. I don’t spend any money. I collect random blueprints, race occasionally, and then go to sleep.
Sodoku - Android (Game Pass): I just like puzzle games. I like to think I’ve become really good at the game, but then reality slaps me in the face with a hard puzzle. On medium I can run through a puzzle. Hard, it’s sometimes easy and then like I said I get slapped in the face.
Skate City - iOS (Apple Arcade): Sometimes on break I like to play a quick game on this skateboarding game. You do tricks and you unlock levels. Nothing really fancy
Asphalt 8+ - iOS (Apple Arcade): This is basically the regular Asphalt 8 game except you don’t have the limitations of a F2P game. I bought a clip for my 360 Controller where I slap the phone into it, and then I just play a driving game. This setup is perfect for sitting in bed, on the couch, wherever you bring a controller to. I took with me to get my oil changed in my car.
Spider-Man Remastered - PC (Steam): This is the game I’ve been spending a lot of time with because it’s fun. You swing around, stop crime, unlock stuff, and just tour a really REALLY nice setup in NYC. What I like is that I can kind of button mash and get things done.
Other Gaming
-I think I’m officially done with console gaming. I love the consoles but I spend a lot of time in front of a computer that I rarely turn on the consoles. They’re sitting under my TV. Handhelds I’m the same way. I like PC, and phone/tablet gaming.
-I upgraded my gaming situation. I no longer play on a gaming laptop, I bought a prebuilt desktop back in I want to say September. It has an Nvidia 3060, and it plays everything at the highest settings (I also don’t play anything really new so that probably helps). I also have a dual monitor setup which makes things a lot easier.
