Loved RE:R! I can see how the wii u version would be superior on merits of superior controls. 3DS ain't bad, but kinda smalI in my big burly man hands.

I tried out the demo for Resident Evil Revelations for WiiU yesterday and I have to say that I'm impressed with what I played. I should explain that I've already played the game on 3DS and that it was the main reason I bought 3DS system. This is basically the same game just blowed up to fit an HD TV Screen. It's well, a port.
The game basically has RE4 controls, which are quite smooth, and RE1 mansion (doors & keys) exploration but on a boat, a very large boat. The Wii U version allows you to use the gamepad as a map and equipped item screen leaving the TV screen clear of any clutter. You can also just play on the TV only and have an onscreen map if you like. However, playing the game off screen on the gamepad is really incredible. The game actually looks better playing on the smaller screen. Much more detailed in fact. Having the second control stick for camera movement makes the game easier to play than on 3DS, unless you have the joystick add-on for 3DS.
If I had to choose between the two versions, I would say that the WiiU and the gamepad functionality make the game easier to play. The 3DS version isn't bad at all, but the WiiUs gamepad gives you more real estate for viewing area and better camera control. The 3DS has the advantage of being portable and being in 3D I suppose.
I've played the game already, so I might skip out on this, but it would probably be one of my favorite games on the Wii U system out now if I hadn't played it before. I do like the gamepad support enough to buy the game again so we'll see.
Also:
Super Metroid is $0.30 and looks awesome on the gamepad by the way.
