Two videos in a row, I’m on fire!

So here’s Part 4 of our escapade, and I have a question for you all…
How are we doing so far and is there anything you’d like us to change up or do?
Are the videos too short? Too long perhaps?

I have some ideas in mind, such as the day before recording, maybe telling you all where we are and what we’ll be doing and maybe giving you all a chance to hop on and either invade us or maybe do some story cooperatively? Just a thought though!

I do have some bad news though…

Sadly, video 5 was unsalvageable, and we lost the entire Gargoyle fight as well as most of the Capra Demon fight in video 5 and 6.

Since I’m a nice guy though, I’m perfectly willing to just start over, rush through it, and continue the videos from where this video leaves off at. It should only take me half an hour or so, so it’s not like it’s a big deal or anything really. I personally think it’s a better option as opposed to just saying fuck it and scrapping videos 5 and 6 and moving onward with the series. I don’t want to leave you all hanging out to dry after all!

However..

I can also quit the videos if you all are getting sick of them already (I hope not!). But I’ll leave this all up to you! I’m having fun with it so I really don’t mind starting over and rushing through to where I leave off in this video (You can actually catch a ‘skip’ towards the end near the Parish, but it was an easy fix!). But I’ll leave it all up to you guys/gals!

But please, leave some feedback below! How’s the commentary? What would you want us to do/show? Are the videos too short? Too long? Let me know what you all think so Bee and I can give you the best we got. Thanks and enjoy Part 4!

Please keep the videos coming. I have Dark Souls, but not the time or patience to play istat the moment. I'm enjoying your walk throughs. While video 3 was on the shorter side, I'll take what I can get. The commentary is great as well. Keep it up b

Definitely don't quit! We just barely got started and there's so much adventure left to go in Dark Souls. I haven't watched the new video yet but I will after this, since you asked for advice and opinions on how the show is going I just want to write this down before I forget. Length of the videos is good and I like how you guys stopped in the last video and talked about the statue of the mother and baby at the sunlight altar and talked about lore for a minute. I'd like to see you guys talk lore as you play whenever you feel it's appropriate and you can fit it in. I like how B will randomly ask you questions or tell you to clarify things to new players as you're adventuring and seeing new things, and then you'll give him answers and you'll both delve into the topics and discuss it together.

Also, it would be really cool for you to occasionally stop and show the viewers what kind of equipment you're using for particular areas and battles if you think it would be important advice for new players. For example if you go to Blighttown and you're trying to wear poison resistant clothes and the poisonbite ring or even the rusted iron ring so you don't get slowed by the swamp try to take a minute to explain to those new players why you're choosing to do that, what the properties of the equipments are, etc. I can tell from the comments you've been getting in the videos so far that some of the community members here are actually playing DS too and they often have questions which is really cool. You could highlight the benefits of certain equipments, you could discuss strategies to how you're going to take on a boss and just any general area with your bow-build, etc so that the people playing can get some insight into how the game's systems work, how kindling works, what firekeeper souls do, why it's good to try out different types of equipment for different situations, why it's good to study your stats and item effects, and how the weapon/armor upgrading works.

One of the things that has made my first Dark Souls playthrough so amazing is that since the beginning I've been plugged into the DS community, the Wiki, Dark Souls veterans like you, and asking questions and having people help me out which has given my adventure a sense of camaraderie and a support system that can discuss the nuances and finer mechanical details of the game as well as lore with me.

Thanks for the advice man! I wasn't really showing off my equipment too much because I was still roaming around with my starting gear. In video's 5/6, I explained what the Fire Keep Soul does, but since that video is screwed up, I'll have to re-iterate it.

As for length, I'm just trying to feel for a good stopping point, but we're trying to keep it between 10-20 minutes per video.

And no worries about quitting, we're going to keep rolling through! I just need to get Bee out so we can do some more recording. I'm completely out of videos to edit now!

I'd say 15 - 20 minute video are probably the ideal length for videos, with any grinding and inventory organisation done in between videos. I think that's the ideal format for walkthroughs. That's just my opinion though. Not watched your videos before man, really enjoyed this.

Yeah, there were a few things I cut out (I went Titanite hunting for a bit between videos), but I'm trying to keep this as Raw as I can since it's kind of a walkthrough/playthrough. Ideally though, I don't think I'll need to grind at all. I'm just going to go through as is!

Don't quit now! I'm taking notes on these videos. To help me when I play the game myself. Plus they are very entertaining with all the chat you do. I think you have made them just the right length on the ones you've done up to now.
