NES Quiz for iPhone

So you think you're a retro-gamer guru?  Test your knowledge with this free well designed iTunes app.

If you have an Apple touch device and a retro-gaming ego (like me), I recommend NES Quiz from iTunes.  I downloaded it and found myself addicted to the very end... well almost the end.  I'm stuck on level 9 of 10.

The way it works is each level contains between 16 and 42 screenshots from various NES games.  Solve half of them per level and unlock the next one. The game is forgiving of slight typos, granting the user a chance to try again if they're pretty close.  Identifying a screenshot correctly the first time without hints grants a free coin that can be used to unlock hints for harder screenshots.  The quiz gets pretty tough around level 6, so save those coins.  At level 9, I am able to solve only 7 of 42 screenshots (21 required to advance), and am not sure if I'll get to the last level without cheating.

Well, I guess I know what I am going to be doing this evening.

No Android? :(

Well, I don't even remember anything about the NES we had anyway, being a baby and all. Now if they had one for the Super NES, though...

Google tells me that a NES Quiz for Android indeed exists, although different in nature.  https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dullahansoft.app.quiz&hl=en

Wow. Someone on 1UP was doing a quiz game just like this a while back.

I would like to see a quiz game like this fused with another game like the way Quiz & Dragons mixed an RPG with a quiz game.

I'll download it if it's free.

It is free.  There are optional microtransactions for those looking to buy coins for hints.

I'll have to check that out. I love testing my knowledge on stuff and I grew up with those games. Might do better than I think!

I used to think I was a SNES guru, until I tried stuff like this! it certainly seperates the men from the boys..... and I think it's the only area in life that I am still classed as a boy!

I grew up more on the SNES, but I'm trying to get more into NES games (and I do own the system). I'll give it a try, but I imagine I'll do pretty bad.
