Amazon's Flea Market Digital Game Sale

Amazon is going ape-shit in their efforts to one-up Steam's regular sales with a MASSIVE line-up of PC digital download discounts. There are discounts upwards of 70% all over the place; some of the sales are simply insane.

For instance, I just bought the Sonic Action Pack for 10 dollars. Thinking it was just a collection of older Sonic games, I instead saw the following:

- Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing
- Sonic Generations + the Casino Night DLC
- Sonic Adventure DX
- Sonic 3D Blast (fucking LOL)
- Sonic 1, 2, 3 + Knuckles and episodes 1 and 2 of Sonic 4
- Sonic CD
- Sonic Spinball (OK...?)

Jesus.

And then on top of that, I also got the Walking Dead for 10 bucks, along with Mass Effect 1 and 2 for around 8 dollars on Steam and Mass Effect 3 for 8 dollars on Amazon as well. I'll also be snapping up Bulletstorm for 5 bucks later this month.

Really, though, this kind of thing is why my PS3 is collecting dust right now. :p

I just came from Amazon. I came really close to picking up Mass Effect 3. I'm not a big fan of digital downloads, so I just couldn't do it. I'll just wait for the physical copy to drop under $10. The way pc prices drop, I'm sure it will in a couple months.

I have no problem with it at these prices. I don't think I've EVER payed more than $10 for a game since I got Steam. But at $60? Fuck that, I'm buying a physical copy.

I cant stand buying digital anything, its bad enough i got digital Xbox live crap, sorry that is a damn good buy but if i cant lay my hands on it i dont want it lol, but that sonic bundle was insane i might have to check that one out.

$10 for all that Sonic would be impossible to pass up if I had the drive space for it. Man.

Although I'm not sure I'd care to play 3D Blast that much. lol

This is how it has to be done between the different digital providers. After all, they are competing with each other and "free" alternatives (especially when retro games are involved), so it's better to price these games low and get something out of it.

Pretty much. They also have to deal with the fact that many people either can't get stuff digitally or simply don't want to on principle--and that's not going to change for several years. Sales like this makes it a much more attractive option.

Interesting,I had no idea Amazon had such great deals. I just recently got on Steam,only have two games right now. But I'm sure that will increase dramatically this year. Pretty sure I won't stray too far from my consoles because my wife does her gaming on the PC primarily. She will run me off once I've been on a couple of hours!

Oh, no, that Steam library is gonna grow real fast. I just got mine because Amazon distributes a lot of their games through it; now I have dozens of games.

You two will be fighting over the PC a lot more. XD
