Soulcalibur: Army Of Darkness

I honeslty dont know how to feel about this game. If any of you played Soul Calibur 5 and you remember how cut down it was in content for offline mode then you might feel like I do. SC5 was my biggest disappointment of 2012. I normally dont have disappointments either, even if a game isnt excatly has I pictured it but still good I let it slide. I refuse to let the injustice that was SC5 slide. I hated that game and at that moment I was severally upset with Namco and Project Soul for releasing such a poor excuse of a game. The only decent thing about it was the create a character system. However one reedeming thing can not save a game especially if you spent 80 bucks for the damn thing. I bought th Limited Edition set and it was my biggest regret money wise. I wish I had not spent a cent but 60 would have made me feel better. Ladies and Gentlemen SC4 was better then SC5. Were suppose to go forward, not backwards. You wanna know why it happened? Multiplayer/Online play. Multiplayer mixed with Online Play are becoming 2 of the most scariest words to gamers now. Games are becoming solely based on if people will have fun online with others instead of what originally made them fun. Now dont get me wrong, I like playing games with people. I dont mind playing a 2 player game but there is a difference in ruining a single play experiance like story and stuff like that to make muiltiplayer the biggest thing ever. So many game developers are going this route and it was a sad day on earth when SC5 did that. The Last Of Us gives me hope though, they havent said barely anything about the multiplayer mode, they have only given us the story side to the game and it is a breath of fresh air to see that. Anyway, If there is a new SC in the making, Ill prolly wait till after it releases to get it and see what it is said about it. I dont think I wanna waste money on it if it isnt a improvement.

Yeah, while I've never played SC:V nor own a current generation console, I do play games single player most often, and while I appreciate good online play (or I'm guessing I would, anyway), I need to have a core there that doesn't require internet if I'm going to play a game.

I need a core game def to stick with a game and SC5 didnt have that at all. It had a very lame offline mode. I traded it into Gamestop a few weeks later. I dont remember what excatly I bought with the credit from it but I was happy to be rid of the damn game. If I rebuy it in the future it will be just to have to play with a friend here and there.

You know its sad when they make a great game like SC and totally screw it up look at persona 4 arena now thats a good example of a game done right it should equally fun for on or offline and when they butcher a game and make it uneaven for the reason of making the offline story mode so good that the online mode has to suffer is just bad designing all the way around.

I personally feel the other way around. I dont care how online mode is really. I dont play online enough to care how it looks in a game. Its the offline modes that piss me off when they are done piss poor to make online play the best thing ever. I more or less play a game offline by myself so I prefer that area to be concentrated on then the other.

Well im the same way i dont give a ratts ass about online play i was just making a point whether its online or offline but look at MW3 or B3 and many other titles that have a tiny offline campaign mode and a huge online mode then all the dlc releases for online but nothing for offline, my point is or what i was trying to say sorry it came out wrong was it should have as good a campaign as online because you know these games fighters and FPS games have to cater to the fanboys lol.

I used to love Soul Caliber as well.  It's too bad how the series has kind of fallen apart.  Creating characters is fun though.

Creating characters def is and they made CAS great in SCV but they didnt make story or other offline content great enough for it to be a good game. It was severally cut down. I wanna have high hopes for the new Soul Calibur but right now I just dont feel it.

Sad to hear. Ever since the last Mortal Kombat came out, having a good story mode is just as important as having a good multiplayer feature.

Having a good story mode was what it use to be about for SC series. I remember in the old days that the games were great and it didnt have anything to do with multiplayer or being online. Technology advancing is great but slowly some games and their series are suffering because developers concetrate on things that didnt make that paticular series popular and let those things die out. I will say this, enough people bitched about the shittiness of SC5 that I would be shocked if they repeat their mistake.

The SC5 CE is like 20 bucks on Amazon last time I checked. I may give it a spin if only for the improved character creator. May post some of my SC4 custom characters. Hope the next game is better. And we should play Injustice sometime.
