XBOX ONE is not the one.

'XBOX..go home!'

I'm not impressed. Well I am, Microsoft just revealed a pretty decent multimedia box. As a gaming console though, I can't comment because what they showed us was  the very bare minimum.

I'm struggling for talking points here. The 'In-Engine', not 'Gameplay', footage they showed of CoD Ghosts was pretty impressive but it's still just another annual iteration of the CoD franchise. Same with the EA Sports stuff they showed, the footage was identical to the opening sequences in all the current gen franchises!

I've been swaying towards Sony for a while now and I feel their reveal showed a lot more promise and they didn't even show their hardware! Obviously it's too early to spell doom and gloom for Microsoft but their subscription model is staying put and a lack of backwards compatibility does not spell promise.

We'll know more at E3 and I think that's where the real battle will be fought. The war won't be decided this year either. I'd urge caution when deciding which console to buy, waiting later down the road seems like the best option.

I'm with ya man, leaning towards PS4..

PS4 showed some games..
XBox1 showed Collar Duty - The New Dogs.

Dogs and hairy arms, that's the future of CoD..

See, the console will most likely sell though, just like the Wii sold.

No doubt and I think it will do a fine job of monetizing the living room, as will the PS4. The focus away from games is worrying me a little though.

since the ps4 seemed far more focused on games, I am definitely leaning in that direction.

The Xbox one just showed me a glorified mancave for a rpg gamer like myself i saw nothing that convinced me that this will be an online sports, fps, entertainment center and nothing more oh yea and Kinect activated really!!! I dont think they had a house full of kids in mind when deciding this stupid feature im going for the ps4 they will have to really show me something to convince me otherwise.

everything's pointing towards Sony's PS4. Let's wait till e3 though, that's where we'll get the bulk of our information!

LOL glad I'm not the only one who laughed at that voice command. :p

And yeah. I'm not interested in a console that's supposed to be a water cooler, a cable box that plays games or a "Trojan Horse". I want a console that's built around a strategy that's "console first", and MS clearly has no interest in that anymore. This was a disappointment.

hard to know who that conference was aimed at, definitely not gamers. E3 has to be aimed at gamers. That's where we'll find out whose carrying the aces.

Oh, it was aimed at gamers alright. Namely the hardcore sports and COD fans. It was a far cry from the diverse range of content and games showcased by Sony back in February--you'd think MS would want to match that, and would easily be able to 3 months later. But I guess not.

The thing is that I wasn't that impressed with the Pre-Rendered Cut Scenese either. So if the games look current gen, and video cut scenes look so-so, where is the WOW factor of owning a next gen console? Let me use that bing snap-in to search for prices on a PS4 please.

it was definitely underwhelming. Sony have my money currently. I still think E3 is going to be where the bulk of information comes out.

Aside from still needing to watch this all myself, I'm with you. E3 will be where they get more info out, I think this served as hype up to E3 .. which might have been a bad move, since everyone's complaining and wanting a PS4.

You could probably just miss it tbf. It really was a non-event, other than the reveal of a black box. This upcoming E3 is probably one of the most important, in recent memory.

Yeah, with the big announcement arguably being the Halo TV-series it's hard not to be weary of what direction Microsoft is going to take this "gaming" console.

halo tv series was kind of cool but the story for Halo has always been wank IMO

I just got home from work so I haven't read anything about the new Xbox announcements.  As soon as it has enough fun games that I want to play, then I'll really be interested.

I wait for E3 with baited breath.

I feel ya,Townz! Preach it! I'm hoping microsoft will listen to feedback and change up their gameplan somewhat. Maybe they'll give a better impression at E3?

It could still be a good system but I'm looking for the more economically friendly of the two.
