I have to admit that I'm mostly a solo player when it comes to games. The only multiplayer game I've really gotten into was Battlefield 3, and that was on PC. I occasionally dabble with an MMO here and there, but I mostly tank through those as well. With that said, XBOX360 has nice features, like Live that have no use for me and I feel that a lot of their strength is in multiplayer games (shooters) and live service.  

I prefer the PS3 with it's quirky game selection and original IPs as well as the online store with classic PS games. It's just better tailored to my gaming tastes. Even still, I prefer classic games on virtual console and portable games on 3DS, DS etc.

So, what I saw today was a cable box with voice controls and hand motions. I'm not even trying to be a troll about this, and if PS4 pulled this shit, I would call it out. I saw a cable box powered by windows 8. For a next gen console, I wasn't very impressed by the visual in the trailers. I have to say that judging by video footage, PS4 seemed more impressive with their trailers. Let's not forget what happened with the Aliens game and early footage versus final release. So judging video is sort of stupid.

 I'm probably not the demographic for XONE. I like FIFA and UFC and as for Call of Duty, I'll probably buy the PC version, because I'm more of a PC gamer, so that doesn't leave me with much to care about. 

 The thing I do like about the 360 the most is the arcade and indie games. I was a bit let down to see a lack of attention to this feature. 

  I just read about Freedom Wars, and looks great. I can't wait.

BF4 next gen Hell yeah!

If you're still excited for the XONE then that's great. Maybe E3 will sell me on it too. Oh, and what the hell happened to the avatars? 

The funny thing is its a cable box that needs a cable box if you think of it in that perspective. Talking about all-in-one but needing a cable box. I think that is misleading.

I think Sony learned from the Killzone presentation on the PS3. Besides, everything shown on the PS4 so far didn't look jaw dropping. It looked good but it didn't blow me away.

It was obvious to see that Microsoft was focusing on the demographic that casually plays only certain games. The Call of Duty people and the sports gamers. The people who was very likely not watching their unveil.

Its funny because Sony is being aggressive with indie games and the new Game Informer said some impressive things the length Sony is going to get those games. The new Game Informer came out on the 21st. Noticed? The day of the Xbox One unveil. That was smart timing when focused a lot on the PS4.

"All your gaming needs", except 360 games.

I'm really over visuals at this point. Wii had some good games for outdated hardware, and so did the Nintendo DS. I get upset if I don't see jaggies or polygons. Realism isn't that real anyway. This comes up a lot with the new Lara Croft game, like it looks real, but doesn't act real. I won't go into it. Part of the reasom my screen name is asrealasitgets. I want games to be games. Quit trying to make realistic creepy old dude faces with billions of polygons. Battlefield looks awesome though. So there are exceptions.

I thought the Capcom Dark Souls video was pretty awesome looking, but who knows if that's in game footage. I'm looking at you Aliens Colonial Marines and Dead Island promo videos!

I hate to admit it but part of the reason why I bought a 360 was to play Shadow Complex and Fez. I played the Gears and Halos of course, but Indie games were so cool. Now they've been taken to the curb and stomped.

Anyway, I'm not getting into a fanboy alley brawl with these kids.  Im enjoying the awesome year of the 3DS. I don't need transistors and cloud servers or whatever to enjoy a nice game of Animal Crossing or Donkey Kong.

At this moment I am leaning heavily towards the PS4. The Xbox One did not impress me in the least, and I've pretty much abandoned my 360 over the past 3 years to focus on PS3, so Sony has the momentum in that regard.

I know you will, especially with JRPGs. There is no way Xbox One will get anywhere near the JRPGs titles in quality and quantity. We know your a big fan of them :)

I just found out about the next XB, so I'm still gathering info.  That connection every 24 hour thing I don't like though.  I'll wait it out and see what happens next.  I'm leaning towards the PS4 though, unless they reveal something about connecting online or no used games.  This just may be the last generation I go into.  I'm not worried.  I have plenty of retro games to play.

The last generation you go through? I am sure after this generation, things will probably change more dramatically in some interesting ways.

I'm sure it will, but I have no interest in buying games I don't actually own.  As nice as digital downloads are, we don't really own the games or content.  At least with PCs you can save stuff on your hd.  Console hd aren't that big and we delete stuff to make room.  When the service to redownload games & content we bought are gone, how to we get our games then?  We don't.  As consoles continue down this path, I won't follow.  I have plenty of games I bought & own to play.  I don't feel comfortable putting my money into an industry that's not looking out for me. 

I just got home from work so I haven't read anything about the new Xbox announcements.  As soon as it has enough fun games that I want to play, then I'll really be interested.

Games are the number one thing. The thing I was intriuged by is Microsoft having 8 new IPs. There lack of new original games is what I have held against them the most on the 360. It will be hard to believe though they can match Sony though game for game.

Our internet and cable went out earlier today. Sounds like that would make an XBOX One almost useless if it happened when I owned one. I am disappoint.

Mine flucuates but worse of all if I go on deployment and can't play while im gone for 6-7 months. That is just ridiculous. It would be pointless to bring it with me.

The eight new IPs is a good sign. If those are indeed quality, non-downloadable games then Xbox One might have a good lineup ahead. However, I honestly have no interest in buying a console where the disc is useless after the initial install. And the 24-hour online thing? What happens when I don't log on? Does the console power-down? Do I lose all my progress? The whole thing reeks of DRM and I can't imagine why any of these things are necessary in the first place.

All the negatives makes the PS4 way more attractive. I wonder if people are going to realize the pitfalls it brings before buying one. Its not likely its going to be plastered on the front of the box. What Microsoft is doing though is going to obviously help Sony out. I can't imagine nobody defecting who was a loyal 360 gamer

I have my reservations about both the PS4 and XboxOne. It's in times like this in which I'm glad I bought a PS3 late into its life cycle. I'll be able to wade through it's immense library in which I've pretty much missed out on entirely while I'm waiting for the bugs in the new consoles to be fixed as well as a price drop perhaps.

I have played them both for a long time and preferred the 360 for a long time. That focus shifting in the last couple of years is good momentum into the next generation getting the PS4.

And don't forget that now is the time to buy good cheap used games before EA and Microsoft start rapin' e'rbody. Hide yo kids, hide yo wives e'rbody bein' raped up in here!
