I decided to start on 3 games this week to help my backlog issues. Started on Resonance Of Fate[great game, leeradical did a superb blog on it recently] which had been sitting on my shelf for ages. Same goes for Shadows Of The Damned, which I'm really enjoying. Suda 51 does some amazing stuff in his games. Crazy, inspired gameplay and dialog throughout. I liked Lollipop Chainsaw,so I figured this one would click with me. And then last night I started on Dead Island,as if I did not have enough zombie slashing mayhem at this time. So in addition to those I am also working on Halo 4,Assassin's Creed 3,and Dishonored. My plate is now officially full!
Have to work most of Memorial Day weekend, but that's okay. Even though I'm going to miss out on Rocklahoma, which starts today. Only a few bands on the bill this year I would like to see anyhow. Bush,The Sword,Dokken,Steel Panther, and Cheap Trick are the ones I would want to see if I was going. The headliner is Gun's N' Roses, but you know what? That is not them. Just Axl Rose and a bunch of hired guns[excuse the pun] who do not capture what was a legendary sound. Without Duff and Slash,it is not the same thing.
It's been a rough week for Oklahoma, and I'm glad it's coming to a close. Lot of help has been pouring into Moore from federal and local sources. Some of the people in that town are preparing to rebuild already. I wish I could help out,I've volunteered in such clean-up efforts before. Maybe next weekend I will if they are still needing folks to help out. Sounds like they have it covered. We are no strangers to disasters of this type around here. Hope that you all will have a great time this weekend. I'm off on Sunday at least and plan on having some fun.
What I'm listening to today..............

that's a lot of games! But I'm in the same boat. I can't seem to focus on just one, and then not on the others for very long either. Oh well, I still enjoy playing!
It's too bad about Oklahoma. We've been watching the news out here and it's very sad.

It is tough, but these are highly resilient folks in that town. They went thru it back in 1999 and had to rebuild. Just very sad about the loss of life in this tornado. As for my gaming life,it is very busy and almost OCD right now. My wife will probably get The Last Of Us for me on Father's Day,which will just add to it. Can't wait!

I would say that your plate is overflowing. I just finished the originla metroid this morning. personally not a big fan of dead island, i gave up once i moved onto the next section of the island.

Dead Island is gonna take some growing on me,I think. Lot of rooting through bags at first. Weapons are kind of cool. Shadows Of The Damned hooked me right away.

Least I'm not alone in this. It's like a support group we have going here!

I saw The Sword at Ozzfest 2008. Literally planned on not seeing them, and came back six or seven times after trying to leave for a main stage band, but just couldn't. They were so good. Deserved much more of a crowd than they got, although a lot of people lined up for Sevendust at the next stage over did seem to be watching, so that's good.
Bush is a great band as well. Depressing, but in a weirdly non-depressing hypnotic way in pretty much any song I've heard from them. Hell, "Comedown" is probably their happiest song that got radio play, and just read that title. lol I love music from the 90s in general though, and they have a great, unique sound.
I'd like to see all of the bands you mentioned as well. And Gn'R I used to like, but lately Axl's voice is just grating on me, even in old recordings; might be how unlikeable he can be influencing how I hear it.
Saw that news story of the woman who found her dog in the wreckage all over the news. She seemed pretty calm for someone in that situation, very strong woman, glad she had her prayers answered.
Enjoy your Sunday off!

There are many heartwarming tales emerging out of Moore now. Those are some tough and caring people there. As for The Sword I just wish they would come to Tulsa. People here love them. Shameful they will be onstage for only about 45 minutes out there in Pryor. I have always liked Bush. Their sound is sort of timeless and stands up well today. Clutch is gonna be out there, too! Forgot they were on the bill. Damn!

THE SWORD ARE ONE OF MY FAVORITE BANDS! So underrated, retro metal at its finest.

First time I heard them I thought to myself....this is the second coming of Black Sabbath. They are just that heavy and that good. And they are always that way,no deviation from their metal path of destruction.
That was hysterical! The cut scenes do get pretty freaky right away. That is nuts!

I don't see any long hour RPG's in there! We need to fix that someday *sinister laugh*

My days of overly long RPG's have dried up. Resonance Of Fate is pretty long. leeradical said he's put in over 80 hours on it! That would take me quite a while to do.

I played it through to completion in fifty. I may have missed some things, as I reached the point of tolerance saturation about twenty five hours in, and made a beeline for the ending.
Still, you can complete it fairly quickly if you don't do all the missions.

Props to trying to take down the backlog. I see mine, yet I still go back to tablet games, and every once in a while think about knocking out one of the games I actually paid for. I really need to play the Assassin's Creed games I own.

I know what you mean about the Assassin's Creed games. They are so big it takes some time to finish them. Still have not finished Brotherhood.
