2013-05-24The Saboteur is a 3rd person action game set in Paris France shortly after the invasion of France from Nazi Germany in around 1942, The Saboteur is developed by Pandemic Studios and published by Electronic Arts and was released on December 8, 2009.

The game starts in Paris France under German occupied territory and for the start of the game the world around you is in black and white and this is the interesting thing about this game is that when the territory is under german control its in black and white but if you complete missisions and help out people and the resistance against Germany the color returns to the areas you liberate and you must admit this is a very cool concept, and you may think to yourself black and white but its done in a way thats really cool for you can see the Nazi armbands the red very well and when you kill the Nazis you can see the brite red and you can see fire to but everything else is dark, well untill you liberate it.

At any rate, the games fighting is just about like GTA it has a lock on an although sometimes it doesnt lock on to the target you actually want, it really does not hinder you very much, the game has a fully functional living breathing world and if you want to climb the Eiffel Tower then by george you can climb it, and thats one of the awesome things about this game is that its an open sandbox world with hidden areas, weapons, armor etc. Another cool thing is the game has a veriety of mini games, as well as 1940s cars that you can take or race or do stunts well just like GTA so as you can tell plenty to do.

So again the graphics are colorful and look very well, the music is done great and fits the time period of France in the 40s the voice acting is suberb, the gameplay is fun responsive and flows fluidently, the targeting cant get frusterating sometimes and the control issues are the only reason i gave it a 4 but there little and far between, overall this is a great game with a ton of replayability and very much worth adding to your collection, and for $10 at gamestop a bargain at that.

I always meant to spend more time with this game.  I was a big fan of the first mercenaries game anyways.

Never quite understood why this game did not do better. 10 bucks is a great deal,I'd snag it in a second. Killing Nazi's is always fun,but doing it in a sneaky manner is even better! Reminds me of Velvet Assassin in a way. I own that one and it is pretty decent. I like that it is open world, not on rails like some other games of this sort.
