It trips me out thinking of getting shot with bullets and it healing me. I'm glad you enjoyed it. One of my friends on the Backloggery is playing GEB right now. He's in chapter 9 if that tells you anything.

I just beat God-eater’s main story arch. Wow, I actually got teary eyed! The first ending really was that powerful which is rare when it comes to videogame story-telling. Of course there is yet another ending with the “Burst” expansion but I kind of doubt it can compare to what I just experienced. I wish I could talk more about Shio and Lindow but I’m kind of afraid I’d spoil something for those of you who still have a psp yet have not finished GEB it its’ entirety.
Mostly my opinion from before still stands. GEB is a great game. I did notice the last few battles got frustrating as hell. For awhile I was genuinely pissed off but after making a new shield, a new sword ,a new gun, and switching out equipment based on Aragami statistics even those drudge-fests became much easier. GEB has sort of a mega-man meta-game behind the scenes. Aka, sometimes an earlier blade or gun you put away is still useful if it happens to have elemental properties a certain powerful Aragami is weak against. Aka, you can’t rely on one single weapon set throughout the whole game. It’s expected of you to switch weapons out once in awhile based on your encounters. The part of me that adores strategy really likes that about GEB but the more lazy part of my psyche that simply wants to rush through to see the story-line sees it as a drag once in awhile. Maybe later in the game you really can make “the perfect gear” but I bet it takes a crap load of rare parts! (And there’s only so much grinding I’m willing to do!)
In the future it would be nice if characters could actually “level up”. I noticed throughout the game each protagonist could be taken out in 2-4 hits, especially later on. Granted, you can stock up on healing items but it sucks to be constantly bum rushed and juggled by a bunch of larger Aragami who congregate in unison. Certainly it adds tension but it is also quite infuriating.
It’s a good thing the AI partners are so gosh darned smart and responsive because otherwise the more difficult missions would be a broken unplayable mess! (In general teammates are quick at reviving you or shooting you with healing bullets)
Anyway, God Eater Burst is definitely worth your money. It has plenty of length even minus the expansion (that’s included, btw) and it remains a decent challenge without becoming utterly impossible! I think anyone into Dark-souls, Phantasy-star online, Kingdom hearts, or Monster hunter will really dig this too. It’s a great psp title to have on the go!
So what can you expect in the future? I’ll be jumping into Ys 7 thus you’ll be seeing me blab about it for awhile! Do you smell that? It’s my weaboo stink!
