8-Bit Drive

Had to work really late last night and started listening to my "Night Driving" playlist. It has a lot of synth driven instrumental stuff in it. And songs from the film Drive. That movie opened up a whole new genre of music for me,with the 80's style synthesizers and beats. Guess it had the same effect on others because people took the time to create these two versions of my two favorite songs off the soundtrack. Now if only they would make an entire game of Drive. I would definitely play that on any console.

Drive would be a great game, but aside from maybe it being an 8-bit game, I see it becoming GTA: Vice City. But an 8-bit GTA: Vice City with the music and atmosphere of Drive, with a linear storyline does sound promising. Hmm...

That soundtrack is awesome, and I think I actually prefer that second song to the original in a way. Goes so perfectly with that 16-bit skyline.

That occured to me as well that it might become very much like GTA. College is the group that did 'A Real Hero" and I now have plenty of their music in my iPod. Whoever did that video was very clever to use that one.

I've never seen drive but from what I've heard it would be a perfect GTA game. Man that music brings me back going to friend's houses and playing a bunch of random NES games.

I have an app on iOS that is an 8-Bit music keyboard. Has sound effects and everything. I love messing around with it trying to play old game music.

I am surprised.  You make a movie called drive, but do not put the cars on the soundtrack.  What has this world come to?

I know! What's up with that? They even had a song called Drive,so why not The Cars?

I also got that GTA Vice City vibe from these songs. Did you play Retro City Rampage? That was a fantastic downloadable game done in an 8 bit over the head GTA style.

I'm going to download that game onto my PS3. Played the demo a few days ago and thought it was great. They captured the whole feel of those retro games.
