You know when i first got Dragons Dogma 6 months almost after its release i really wanted the game but of course being a family man and not having the money i wish i had to buy games i was forced to wait, so finally i got it and not two months later Dark Arisen released making me feel like i got the shaft, but after doing some research on it i learned that Capcom went all out making this expansion and it was to large to put out as dlc, and why they just didnt do it like Dragon Age did with the Awakening, but im sure they had there reasons.

So then came the question is it worth it to fork over more money to get Dark Arisen and my answer to that is if you really like DD or dont own it yes, if you own the original copy of DD then personally i would play the original and by the time you get almost done with it, im sure Dark Arisen will be a little cheaper and worth the purchase, but anyway Dragons Dogma in itself is an awesome rpg and really the only pick i really have on the game is the mapping, now what were they thinking the only way to see your objectives is to look at the map and then when you exit the map they ( being the mark of your objective ) is gone so basicly every time you want to see where your going in conjunction to where you are you have to pull up the map, and in Dark Arisen i really hoped they would have fixed this but they didnt.

So Dark Arisen adds about 20 hours to a already 80 plus hour game and you start the expansion at the village pier and go to an Island called Bitterback Isle a cursed island at that and if your expecting a vacation your sadly mistaken cause you spend the 20 plus hours underground and although you better make sure you have plenty of lantern oil, it is dark but very dangerous i mean even death himself in the form of the grim reaper is down there and will kill you, track you down and kill your ghost hes that bad. Theres 25 new enemys down there and hundreds of new weapons equipment etc. then you got more character customization.

Another really cool thing about this game is if you do own DD and have your save with the new DA you do get to keep your saves, dlc and anything else from your original game, and yes this game is worth the purchase in my opinion.

So is the expansion game a separate option from the main menu? How can you go straight to the Island after starting the game? They packaged two separate games on one disc?

The expansion is on the same disc as the game although there is a second disc that you load to the HD and to go straight to Bitter Back Isle you go to the peir in the firstt villge you start the game at and there.is a lady standing there and when you talk to her it begins the Bitter Back Isle quest and let me fore warn you DO NOT!!! go there unless your at least level 50 but would be better to be at a 100 its very tough and dangerous and theres a creature called death that will stalk you and can kill you in one shot youve been warned lol.

The DLC sounds like that last area of DD with the trials in the pit or whatever it is. Might just wait for a Price Drop. I have no use for a second copy of Dragons Dogma.

Glad I waited cause this sounds cool, and probly gonna wait to get this too just because I've been spending too much money on games and game related stuff lately, lol. I need to by some cloths and get a hi-hat stand and symbols for my drum kit. My priorities have been a little off the mark.

That is a beast. And those long shelled toms by the hi-hat? Crazy!

Yeah, I'm workin with a Roland TD3 electronic kit, I live in a loft apartment so an accoustic kit is impossible right now. But I'm lookin to start playing with some people and it sounds good enough, but the hi-hat sounds are lame and the pedal response is not very good. So adding a real real hi-hat should make it work until I can get somewhere where I can have a nice accoustic set again. A nice simple 5 piece would work for me. Although I am torn between a DW or a Yamaha.

Yamaha is a great kit and of the two i would recommend a good Ludwig is another one.

In a way I see this as capcom's prettier & bigger version of monster hunter. There's certainly nothing wrong with that at all! I'll probably snag this up eventually along with Witcher 2 and Mass Effect 3.

The witcher 2 of the three would be what i would get cause the price is right and its anaawesome game to, but all three are great.

I'm really excited for this, it's the next game I want to buy when I get a chance. I'm trying to save my money up to buy a box set of A Song of Ice and Fire books, but when I get the money I'll be getting DD:Dark Arisen. I haven't played the game yet so it'll all be fresh to me, I've been wanting to play this for a long time now. Hopefully I can get it soon.

Got Dragon's Dogma at day-one and played about ten hours of it before I traded it in. I forget exactly why, but this is making me want to pick it up again. It was pretty fun climbing all over huge monsters.

Well that may have been a good thing, since now you have an excuse to buy DDDA lol.
