The Witcher 2 was a game i was following way before its release, and because of all the hype surrounding the release made me want it all that much more. So when it finally did release i was sceptical due to the fact that most pc games dont port over well to consoles, but to my dismay i was pleasantly surprised.

The Witcher 2 has alot going for it. its a action roke playing game developed by a Polish studio called CD Projekt RED abd is the sequel to the 2007 game the Witcher, the game is based on a book. series of the same name, by polish Aurhor Andrzej Sapkowski and the game has sold a whopping 1.7 million units for the pc and 360 as of May 2012.

You start the game as Geralt of Rivia one of the few remaining witchers. Witchers are humans who have been genetically enhanced and trained to fight monsters from a young age. They have special powers, differing for each Witcher. These include alchemy, magic and sword handling. At the beginning of the game Geralt is interrogated in a prison in the Kingdom of Temeria by Vernon Roche, the commander of a group of Temerian special forces known as the blue stripes, regarding the assissination of the king of Temeria, and so the tale begins.

The gameplay is a hack n slash affair but taken a little further then your average hack n slash rpg, this time you have the ability to lay traps, also to aim and throw ranged weapons, Gerait also has improved offensive and defensive arsenal and you have an upgrade tree which in order to learn a new or differet ability you have to finish upgrading the ability you started it really is a complex but easy to use system. Theres towns an interactive experience with bustling folks and plenty to do you can even interact with call girls, you can buy trade sell etc all the things you do in citys and towns.

The magic is amazing looking and the graphics look awesome i was eceptionally impressed with the graphics and lighting, the day night cycle the weather changing and it all looks really really good. The music and voice acting is done just as well from the creepy eerie music in the forest to the bustling sound of the harp and madoline being played in the tavern, the voice acting is top notch and you can tell they took great care in casting a top notch crew of actors for the voice overs. The gameplay is awesome as well the game has a very good tutorial in place, and its easy to play but hard to master, overall i could find very little wrong there were a few glitches and pop ins, and at times a little buggy but not enough to hurt the game.

So bottom line this is one of the best rpgs i have played its huge and pkenty to do and very few quest are repetitive or boring, the only reason i didnt give it a perfect score was cause its a little buggy, but short of that a must play, and i recommend getting this game if you havent played it.

I love this game. I originally bought it on PC and then I bought it on Xbox to see if the port was any good, and I was surprised that the game actually plays better on a controller. The graphics ported over well too. It looks much better than Battlefield 3 did on consoles anyway. The only thing graphically that's really missing is (apart from higher settings) light shafts, because holy fuck were they amazing on pc!

I've been meaning to check this out (Again, another post by you in which I been meaning to check out, lol), I just haven't gotten to it yet. Perhaps this will be one of the games I grab during the next-gen shake down!

The Witcher 2 is a great game.  After finishing it, I went out and bought the 1st game.  I hadn't played it yet though.

I really want to play this but I have to finish the first game first, which I really like.
