Stop toying with me, Kojima!

Hideo Kojima does like to mess with us,doesn't he? To him, we are like catnip-laced jingle balls he bats around his living room floor. There's always some strange story or bizarre screen shot that appears before a new Metal Gear game is announced. That was certainly the case this time around. But the part about David Hayter not returning to voice Solid Snake was one I was highly suspicious of. His voice is so connected to the character it's hard to imagine anyone else doing it. Now it's going to be revealed at E3 if it was all just a joke on us by Kojima-San. If he were not the visionary game designer he is,I'd almost be pissed off by this one. But you can't help but love the guy. He's done so much for us he can have his fun at my expense. My leg has been pulled by him so much it's a wonder my hip is not dislocated!

I am used to the voice of Lara Croft changing from time to time. That doesn't seem so unusual at all. But Snake is such an iconic character as well, yet his voice is part of who he is in my mind. Just the right mix of gruff and angry thrown into it. But he also has a funny and kind side to his speech as well. We will see very soon who the new voice is.....or perhaps Hayter will be back.

What I'm listening to today.................

One of these days I really need to play a Metal Gear game...

Thanks for the Connie Dover song!

Thought you might like that one. I've been listening to metal so much lately I needed that. Been too worked up and I need to relax today. If I were you I'd start with Metal Gear Solid 2. Everyone seems to enjoy that one quite a bit. If you decide to take one on,that is.

I know what you mean by iconic voice actors. I'm not sure how I feel about the Batman Origins situation; one moment it's Kevin Conroy voicing Batman, then the next moment it's someone else. I've been listening to Kevin Conroy's portrayal since the Batman Cartoons in the early 90's. After a while, I eventually came to know him as the real voice of Batman, so I'm really hoping he's back for Origins!

Loved both songs, and the visuals in the first one were lovely. lol

I agree about Hayter's voice being iconic, but if they don't use him, methinks this isn't really Snake anyway.

Could be an elaborate ruse,as they say. The trailer for the game did not give many clues. But it did look fantastic to me. Glad you liked the songs.....and yes,Katzenjammer are quite easy on the eyes.

I can understand pulling out a new voice actor for an aging Big Boss, but I cannot understand taking David Hayter out of Metal Gear completely.

I think that he will return. What prompted me to write about this was news about a tweet that David Hayter wrote. Said something about how much he was looking forward to E3. And how he hoped he didn't "lose his voice". A subtle hint, perhaps?

Mr. Kojima is a troll master. heh Ever since MGS 2, he's been playing with our emotions. Laughing

They say great minds often work that way. I think it's rather endearing that he has such a good sense of humor. I've seen some interviews with him where he was laughing and joking around a lot.

First Rule of Hideo Kojima: never believe a Kojima product exists until you're actually holding/playing it.

Actually, I think that's the only rule.  But it's a good one.

Knowing what we know now I can't help but laugh. Not sure if it's in a good or bad or crazy way though.
