What's in a Voice? (video)

So I saw this video the other day and thought I would share it with you guys. It's an interview with Charles Martinet, the voice of Mario. Since Super Mario 64, Mario has had the most iconic voice in video gaming. Martinet explains why he chose to do Mario's voice in the style he has, along with many other aspects of voice acting. But this man is talented; not only does he do Mario's voice, he also does the voices of Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi. Thanks to Martinet, Mario has been given a very down-to-earth, fun-loving charm. I can't imagine Mario with any other voice (and I love Luigi's voice too). Enjoy the video, guys.

He was also the narrator of Bit Trip Runner 2, and many other games. He's quite the accomplished individual. "HAVE A ROTTEN DAY", and Luigi in Luigi's mansion hahaha just awesome.

Had no clue about Bit Trip Runner 2, cool. He's a great voice actor, and I must admit, Luigi is my favorite.

Very talented. I suppose it's a wierd job, but at the same time, pretty awesome. "Hey, what do you do for a living?" "Oh, I do the voice for Mario." "Oh, you mean the most famous video game character ever?" That's awesome!

I've been playing Mario games since I was 5, and this was the first time I ever saw the guy that was behind Mario's voice lol. He doesn't really look like how I pictured him. Thanks for the video.

My pleasure. Martinet is just a down-to-earth kind of guy, isn't he? I thought it was very interesting to see him and hear what he thinks of Mario and Nintendo. Like Mario, he's a very likeable guy.
