"Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!"

I had to use this image of a prism first. Makes me feel better. Better than I felt hearing all about the PRISM program that the NSA has been using to spy on us for years now. Guess one intelligence operative felt it was wrong and released some documents to the Washington Post. I really was not shocked or surprised by any of the news. I always figured it had been going on. Ever since 9/11 and the dawn of the Patriot Act our privacy is just a joke. What does surprise me,and will continue to in coming days,is the government reaction to the leak. They went to the old "You're with us,or you're with the terrorists" stance made famous by George W. Bush. Just the arrogance that it takes to be pissed that now folks know they are being constantly monitored. And how we are now "less safe" due to this insight!

None of the companies involved surprised me a bit. But did you notice the one at the top of the list? I wonder what the government had to threaten them with to gain their cooperation? This has all been going on since 2007 apparently. I don't think for a second they give a damn about anything I'm doing or saying. I could care less. But there are people in this country they are spying on who have done nothing but are viewed as subversive. Who decides who those individuals are? Why are their rights less important than yours or mine? So many questions that will never be answered. It's gotten to the point Americans have given up on ever having a private conversation, idea,or thought. There was an agency put in place by Bush that had the goal of controlling all data and keeping tabs on all of us. This was their agency seal......

This spooked a lot of people and the agency no longer exists. The Latin phrase there means"Knowledge Is Power". The all-seeing eye is of course also on the one dollar bill. It's often associated with Freemasonry. Our founding fathers were all Masons,so that's no big surprise. Just the simple fact the NSA is responsible makes me wary. Ever see the movie "Enemy Of The State"? That one really made me think. How much of that could actually happen...to any of us if we were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

It's not gonna help you, kid. They can still see you and hear you, too. I'm gonna climb down off my soapbox here in a moment. This whole thing just bugs me. The part that bothers me most is how you know people at the top are exempt. They would throw you in prison for life if you ever even thought of tapping their phones or reading their e-mail. Yet all of us are fair game. Just have to deal with it and go on. It stinks to high heaven and I don't think it makes us any safer from anything. But at least we are safe when we are playing games. They can't possibly touch us then. It's like our own little safe haven from the prying eyes of the...oh..what...hey..why the....

"I have one question for you,Wayde. Do you ever wear pants?"

Now for some music that will resonate well in my tin foil hat........

I wish there was somewhere decent to escape to.

Maybe some remote island way out in the Pacific. But the satellites could still watch you there. Damn!

Sometimes ignorance is bliss...  I think that I need to go and listen to some pink floyd right about now.

Me too....that would chill me out right about now. Dark Side Of The Moon or The Wall should do the trick. My Mom watches the media very closely, and she told me of this stuff years ago. Guess she was right all along.

the only pink floyd album that I currently have is "wish you were here" and I am a big fan of that one.  I wouldn't mind picking up dark side of the moon or the wall at some point.

I even like some of their post-Roger Waters albums like The Division Bell and A Momentary Lapse Of Reason. The stuff they did in their early years is trippy but brilliant still.

Yeah, this whole story is really scary. I can imagine a distopian future where the government controls everyone's thoughts and actions. This is just one step. I think the reason people are so upset is because this is an extreme invasion of privacy. All in the interest of "national security." Bad timing with Microsoft's press release, though. Even though you can turn the new Kinect "off", it still needs to be plugged into the Xbone in order for the console to work. Hmmm.

I think a lot of this has to do with control of dissent within countries. Look how in Middle Eastern nations where the people are protesting the government. Internet is the first place they try to stop the revolt from spreading. They shut it down or limit access to sites like Twitter. If the government is never surprised then they are happy. That is true power in itself.

I would write a response in 256bit encrypted gregorian text and put it in a bitlocker file but if I lost the key and removed the hard.... Wait what, damn I have been sleep typing again.

What you say here also reminds me of the recent movie "The Purge". Aka, one day where the government would allow us to kill, rape, rob, and kidnap each other without any consequences. Of course the rich would essentially be able to hole up in fortified bunkers during this event while the rest of us would be sitting ducks for our personal enemies. Yeah, I could totally see our government okaying something like this. Scary! (And for the record, I rather not have my game console watch me masturbate to porn.)

I've been having fun watching the government agents and the president squirm over this. They all have their drawers in a bunch. Like some sacred program has been tarnished and damaged horribly. They will find other ways to screw us that are just as enjoyable to them I'm sure. And in a few months when all of this dies down it's back to business as usual on spying on us. Can't wait to see that movie, think you may be right on that.

So much for hope and change offered with this administration. Kinda puts into perspective on what all the conspirocy theroists have said over the years.
