Sometimes Kotaku reporting surprises me

Did you like Dungeon Defenders? Well, Kotaku released an investigation behind the company that made DD, Trendy Entertainment. I'm not a Trendy employee, but due to some things I probably can't talk about, I don't believe I could talk about the issue. Suffice to say, I do live in Gainesville, Florida, the headquarters of Trendy, and I've experience with the studio, albeit it very light experience. Anyway, I thought it would be relevant to start a post about this article. Do I believe it's accurate? No comment, I suppose. Do I believe people should know it exists and that it's something people should openly share? Absolutely, yes.

I will say this: I think someone could write a book or create a movie about this studio and what came before it (Artificial Studios). There's probably stuff worth talking about that would be entertaining.

Place sounds like every job I've ever had. *Advice: Speaking up gets you fired. Not speaking up makes things worse. Sometimes you have to know when to get out. I would imagine that those working conditions would cause all sorts of health/mental issues. Just saying.

Take a look at Monster Madness: Battle For Suburbia characters and the huntress from Dungeon Defenders. Given those, I'm not too surprised to hear that those words were spoken.

I read that before. Yeah, truly a toxic company to work for. Hopefully, places like that go under PDQ.

If it is true I hope that Mr Stieglitz gets his commupance, I ve worked for a particulraly nasty man who felt nothing in bullying staff and pushing people to their absolute limits in the pursuit of better results. People like this anger me to my core, though I was fortunate to be a civil servent and protected by union rights. I remember once how he tried to 'usher me along' with a push to the back, I quickly spun around and met his gaze, staring blankly until he looked away. People like this are most often cowards. But then again as you say, it could be all rumour..... though no smoke without fire?

I probably can't talk about my firsthand experiences with Mr. Stieglitz. I didn't suggest this was rumor, though. I only said that I'm sometimes surprised that Kotaku can report quality stories, and this certainly seems to be a quality report.

Too right, and you've done the right thing putting it out there too, like I say I can't stand that kind of behaviour and you ve also delivered it with professionality. Kudo's to you good sir!

It's sad to think this still happens in todays work force. It never dawned on me this would even be done. But I have a bad feeling this might be more pervasive in the business world, not just in the gaming industry at large.
