More Pictures of Video Games

So, my girlfriend and I have just about finished moving.  93% of my games are here.  The Genesis and Sega Master System games are still in the old place, as are one crate of shitty NES games.  And my DS cases are there, but everything else has been successfully transported.  So that means more pictures for you, including the rest of my Sega CD and Saturn games; good thing too because I had feared them lost.  I'll start with those.

Sega CD (More)

Sega Saturn (More)

Two of my Neo Geo AES games slipped in there.  Here are a few more of them.

Neo Geo AES

But you don't care about many of those.  Or these:

Neo Geo Pocket Color

Did you recognize any of those?  Faselei! is the expensive one, if you were interested.  I'll finish up with some more handheld games.

Sega Game Gear

Sorry to disappoint you.  I know you don't give a shit about the Game Gear.  Let me tell you something.  Literally every single picture that I've tried to post has come up as a broken link at least three times.  It took TEN tries to get the Game Gear pics up.  Luckily the Mets are in the middle of a 19 inning game, and I have nothing better to do.  I do this for you, you ungrateful bastards.  Here's a system you may be more familiar with:

Game Boy Advance

Have fun trying to figure out what any of those games are.  I'll give you a hint- Car Battler Joe is one of them.  That's how obsessive I am.  Car Battler Joe, just saying.  Oh, and two of them are imports.  Bonus points if you can find them and tell me what they are.

I'll end it here.  I start teaching two Summer courses on Monday, so who knows if I'll be able to write before the weekend.  I'll attempt to slip in ten more from the RPG countdown, but don't hold it against me if I can't.  Enjoy!

The games can run anywhere from $50-$300 still.  That's why I don't have too many.

I think one of those F-Zero cartridges was imported. Convenient I read that there was such a thing on the last blog I commented.

The F-Zero isn't the import.  I've been debating whether to import the SNES "sequel", which is really just a bunch of remixed tracks.  But will I ever really play it?  The eternal question.....

My buddy has the Game Gear and it's sequel, the Nomad. It's kinda cool that you can play Master Systems games, with an adapter, on the Game Gear and Genesis games on the Nomad, without an adapter, but there wasn't much I really wanted to play that was made for either of those systems. Still, who doesn't want to play Shining in the Darkness on the crapper?

The Nomad was really Genesis in portable form, right?  I actually don't own one, because I didn't think it had any original games.  If you tell me otherwise, I may have to get one......

You know, Sega stuff is really popular in South America for some reason.  I wonder if they have some crazy games over there that we haven't seen.

I just read up on it. Apparently you are right and it doesn't have any original games, just the Genesis library not including 32X games.

I see Mega Man for the Game Gear!  I shouldn't be so suprised to see that, though, considering how many rare games you own.  By the way, do you have the Wonderswan and any of its Rockman games?

As for those GBA games, I see the two imports, but I only recognize Starfy 3.  I can't even attempt a guess as to what the other one is.  I do see an English reproduction cart of Mother 3, though.

Anyway, looking at your GBA games makes me want to photograph my own collection.  Actually, it makes me wish I had the time to play my own games (GBA or otherwise).  At the very least I have played through Car Battler Joe (I picked it up soon after buying Metroid Fusion over a decade ago).  That was a fun, though highly repetitive, game.  Too bad it didn't continue on past the first game, because it had some interesting ideas that could have been expanded on.

So, have you played through all of those NGPC games?  Or, were they something you just wanted to collect?

I don't have any of the Rockman games, but I do have a repro copy of Megaman and Bass, if that means anything.  I won't purchase games that I have an American (equivalent) copy of.

And of course, you were correct about Starfy.  You missed Daigasso Band Brothers, however.  :)

Now, when I show my DS games, you'll have to pick out my favorite all-time import.  If you can guess it ahead of time, bonus points for you.  And it's not Jump Superstars, so there's a hint.

I've played Bio Motor Unitron (half way), Metal Slug, Sonic and a few of the fighters.  I plan on playing Faselei! sometime before the end of 2014.  Jesus, can't believe I just said that.

As a Mega fan, you know the the Game Gear version is shit, right?  Well not complete shit, but riddled with impossible situations and blind jumps.

Mega Man for the Game Gear was a good effort, considering that Capcom had nothing to do with it.  Yes, the music is... terrible, the aspect ratio causes significant problems (they should have copied the Game Boy versions), and Mega Man somehow lost a projectile.  But, it is still playable.  Anyway, it's one of those curiosities that I wouldn't mind owning.  I'm not going to part with big bucks for it, though.

As for the Rockman games, I was just curious to see what other imports or reproduced carts you had in your vast collection.  Other games like Rockman EXE WS and Rockman Megaword never had a proper Western release, and I thought you might have acquired them.

Ah, Band Brothers.  That was a bit misleading due to its status as companion piece to the DS game.  If only I had remembered that it was one of the few releases that made use of both slots, because that was a dead giveaway to its identity.

Hmm... your favorite DS import.  I'm not even going to go into how much of a wild guess this is (there is a metric ton of interesting DS imports to choose from), but I'm going to go with Game Center CX 2.

Finally, I'm glad to hear that you are playing your NGPC games.  How is Dark Arms, by the way?

I wish I could play Game Center CX2!  Alas, I understand no Japanese.

The answer was Ouendan! Best in its genre, I think.

More to come, I suppose.  And some of those games can double as porn!

I see astal, legend of oasis, mysteria, and herc's adventure...  all saturn games that I would like to play at some point.  Same with the RPGs that you had on the last one of pics.

SgtDawkins

Those took a long time to gather.  I have a bunch of imports, as well.  Because of the move, things are in boxes in odd places, and I haven't been able to find them.

Just for edification, though- Capcom Collection 2 (I think it's 2, the one with the ghouls and ghosts compilation), Deep Fear, Dungeons and Dragons Collection, Shining Force Scenario 2 and 3, Salamander Collection, Silhouette Mirage, Marvel vs. Street Fighter.  Can't remember if that's all of them.

So many RPGs I wish I could play.....

I am really hoping that whatever sega spectrum is it will let some of us experience all of those nearly lost saturn games.
