So Dragons Dogma has been compared to Skyrim,Darksouls and a few others I cant think of,and although in my opinion I dont think there anything like any of these games it does have the feel of darksouls in a mental kind of way, but as far as the way the gameplay and graphics none that I can see, Dragons Dogma has its own identity, it has an old school rpg feel and let me tell you why, first off it the fast travel which is almost nonexistent in dragons dogma you walk everywhere and thats like the old school rpgs, no time travel gate or fast travel here, which is a good thing sure it gets old traveling that same old path three or four times but the challenge is will you get caught out in the world at night fall where you will surely die, its this kind of stress that adds to the fun, then theres the lantern which I have not seen used in a game since the old Ultima days, not only do you have to make sure you have a lantern you better make sure you have pleny of oil for that lantern cause I found out the hard way, im desparately searching for a empty house or somewhere to make camp and then I found my lantern out of oil and never even occoured to me that I have to refill my lantern lol, needless to say im glad I had a save before that situation or I would have been one mad rpger.

Needless to say my first experience with dragons dogma was very stressful, but in all this is an awsome rpg, it took me along time to get this game, but my main reason was that Capcom was the makers and although streetfighter and many other great games were made by them, but not really rpgs so I must admit, I was a little skepticle about an rpg made by Capcom, but after playing this fantastic rpg I now know Capcom has what it takes to make an awsome rpg.

I actually just finished this game, it was quite impressive! I loved the pawn customization, the amount of weapons, the world! the story! It really surprised me for how good it was, and I never saw the ending...but the ending definitely made the game a full circle!

I really wanted to get this game after playing the demo last year.  I almost got it a few months back.  It was only $30 at GS.  I missed the sale by 1 day.  Now, I'm just waiting for it to be $30 again.  I'll probably get it this year.

I felt like I was reading my own post back to myself. I gushed about Dragon's Dogma on 1up this month. I think I'm nearing the end game, but I've been distracted lately. I actually tried running everywhere. If you keep a light weight character, your stamina will last longer. If you keep empty bottles on your pawns, they will refill them when they find oil in certain dungeons.
The game is just very atmospheric. The rustling trees, the landscapes, the wildlife. I just like being in the world. After playing it for so many hours, I've become familiar with the geography and I just take off running. I think it's my favorite game of 2012, even though I'm playing it in 2013. Keep blogging about it.

I haven't played this game but I bought it for my brother as a gift to raise his spirits.  I sent it to him -- he is in MAryland, I am in Arizona. I haven't heard back from him, but I hope he enjoyed it as much as you did.  If he did I'm considering getting him the expansion for his birthday.
