Ok so this system is announced and is out there now what possibly can Microsoft be thinking, i mean its pretty obvious that The Xbone is in serious trouble. I was on FaceBook and on there facebook page everyone is flat out pissed, and to be honest the only way Microsoft can save there future is to remove this internet lock and then make kinect optional, and then to make up for all the misery they put everyone through make it able to play 360 games, and then i would fire the brainiac who came up with 24 hour connection, i mean really what the hell were they thinking. Thats like saying hey only white people can play this console, cause lets face it people who want a console and cant afford or just dont have intetnet theregetting the middle finger from Microsoft,  so with that said im going with the PS4 the library is already gearing for all gamers not just a select few and the ps4 will thrive and make a huge amount of sales because Microsoft. Screwed up and put the nails in there coffin even before there launch.

I was curious, so i checked to see if I could see the facebook page.  Somebody thinks that the ps4 has free online multiplayer, he is in for a surprise.

I think that the majority of people on that facebook page do not do their homework.

Hold your horses Lee, well a couple of things about PS4 you should consider is that:
1. PS4 requires PS+ for multiplayer games, will no longer be free online service.
2. First party games may be DRM free, however, software companies that wish to implement this will be able to. So games from EA, Ubisoft, etc may still make you do this regardless of system you choose.
3. So the final cost of PS4, includeing PS+ is 399 + 50 a year for online. Those are your two models basically. 399 (offline), 449 (online).

PS4 still looks better on paper, and overall on DRM policies, but this should be pointed out.

I saw a follow up to the DRM news.  It sounded like it was talking about stuff like "online passes" and similar things would be up to the publishers.

Same here. Something about being able to implement online passes, not actually controlling the always on thing.

But anyway you look at it if your offline for over 24 hours you wont be playing anything. Online pass or not.

mmmmmmm i dont remeber saying anything about the ps4 being free online lol!!! i just said Xbone needs 1 to remove there  online only crap and 2. make kinect optional and 3 fire the brainiac behind this lol so where did PS4 being free online come from??

I don't think that people celebrating PS4 know they have to pay for online or that some version of DRM may still exist. PS4 may not be paroling you, but yeah those online passes may still exist for some games.

And hell i will gladly pay an online fee i have been doing it for the 360 for 4 years payibg Sony or publishers is fine with me, at least when my internets down i will be playing games while Microsoft players are watching movies lmfao!!!!!!!!!

You got me there Lee. Deactivating your console if no internet is stupid. Damn you well presented games on MS stage. You almost swayed me.

My case manager said he pre-ordered a Xbone. I tried to argue with him but he's a lost cause. I don't get why anybody would want to buy that piece of garbage. It's like M$ is giving a giant middle finger to all of their loyal customers with all these restrictions. I guess in the end people will buy it but hopefully not enough to make it a success.

I honestly cant see how Xbone will be a success, mark my words right now 4 years from now Microsoft will be crying and will loose millions if not billions on sales theres no way there call of duty fanbase will carry there sales, Microsofts online only has sealed there fate.

I agree that I cannot see how anyone could justify buying a Xbone. I mean say you move and it takes you three weeks to get internet/cable (like it did for me). If you own an Xbone, gaming will not be an option. And you won't have cable either...so it will be a dust collector. That and the fact that you will never truly "own" the games you buy.

Yea kinda takes away the novelty of buying games cause when the System is obsolete in 6 or 7 years all you will own is a system with no internet servers and a box full of games with no use other then nice coasters for your drinks lol!!!

I'm not really happy about the PS+ thing for online play. Inititialy I really didn't care about online, but them I started playing Borderlands 2 and some fighters online . Plus My bro will eventually get one so we can play online. This is why I'm not in a rush to get a PS4. I got plenty to keep me buissy and it sounds like there will still be a lot of PS3 games coming out for at least another year or two. There were still PS2 games dropping a good three years after PS3 had been out. As ususal I will wait and see what happens.

I agree not to worried about paying for online after all being on the 360 for 4 years im use to it, but like you it will be a while i still need to get a ps3 and some games i really want on it so maybe a year or so when the bugs ,price go down and the library gets bigger.

Yeah, it never fails the first batch always end up having some loose ends. When it comes to these things patience truly is a virtue, lol. Guesse that comes with age cause if I was 19 or 20 I think might would be placing a preorder Laughing.

It's a real shame because I read the other day that a new Killer Instinct title will be a microsoft exclusive.... and I love Killer instinct. Really love it! still thats the only X box exclusive that had me excited and given the games histroy I might have to wait to see if this announcement is actually true. Plus it'll take more than one must have to sell the Xbone to me, though the last of us is seriously making me want to buy a PS3!

leeradical42

Yea that and Heavy Rain and for some reason i really want Ni No Kuni but the main reason i want a ps3 is i want to play Valkyrie Chronicles cause i loved Operation Darkness on the 360.

I'll gladly pay for PS+ for all the advantages you get. I just hope their servers improve for multiplayer gaming. Everytime I've played MP games on my PS3 they lag like crazy. Thought it was my router at first, but it's just fine on 360. So if I have to pay I want it to at least work as well as XBOX Live does. Microsoft does need to make some changes before the launch if they want to be competitive.

Yea you know that will really be the only thing i will miss from Microsoft, they do have Xbox Live nailed as the best online format.
