Here's my schedule: Teach a four hour class at 8 a.m., give an office hour until 1. Drive home, attempt to go for a run (marathon training) and take a nap. Rush back to the school and teach a four hour class from 6-10. Every Monday through Thursday. Add that to the move, and it's been a hectic few weeks. So the laziness in these posts is a reflection of the stress I'm feeling away from here. And instead of actually writing anything of substance, here are some more pictures of games!
Sega Master System
Sega Genesis
I made it easy for you to spot the reproduction carts, but see if you can find them anyway. People don't give enough credit to King's Bounty, an eminently playable game. Oh, here's another game. One, and only one of the above games is in a reproduction case. When I purchased it, the guy claimed it had its original case, but it didn't. Bastard.
SNES Reproduction
So, if you are unfamiliar with reproduction carts, here's the quick of it: They are pretty much translated versions of the import games that you'd normally play on an emulator. Somebody takes an old, unused SNES cart, puts the game on it, and prints out an official-looking sticker. There you go- a veritable deluge of games that you've spent years salivating over but never hasd the ability to play on an actual system. Anyway, they are fairly expensive, but if you buy in bulk you can get some minor discounts. Instead of spending money on newer games that I might have once purchased without a thought (Metal Gear Revengenancingsoning, Kirby Collection, Witcher 2, Dishonored) I but these instead.
NES Reproduction
I love Mr. Gimmick and Sweet Home. Anyone who laments having played all the great NES games, should give those two a try. I'm going to end this installment with a bunch of the game soundtracks I own. To me, a game's music is just about as important as the gameplay, and often more important than the graphics. This is especially true for the older titles out there.
Soundtracks
That's everything I've got for now. Next one will either be Playstation and beyond, or NES and SNES proper. Depends on what I want to unpack first, and if I can find everything. I found .hack Part 1 lying in a box with a bunch of unrelated crap, so that's something. I'm giving a test tomorrow, so maybe I'll bust out the 3DS during class and get a start on Golden Sun. Thanks again for suffering through this- until next time!
