Today I dug up fossils, did a little fishing, planted cherry trees, and had a nice chat with all of the residents of my little town. I broke open a rock and found an emerald inside, yesterday I found gold, the day before that silver. The rocks in my real life back yard give me nothing but pain.

The Peterton museum is coming along nicely but there is still much to be done. I've almost donated a whole T. Rex

I've been getting some cool shit by buying fortune cookies for play coins. I've taken picture of myself in my Fi Mask and my Midna's Mask. I'll post them later.

I got the last 11,000 bells on my one room home but I know only too well that it is not going to end there.

Finally I took a long walk on the beach, collected a whole bunch of shells to sell at Re-Tail and woke up a sailor who had washed ashore. I guessed that he was trying to get to Mexico by the clues he gave me and he promised to sent me a gift.

I tried to go visiting other towns today but no-one was on. Maybe tomorrow.

Never has doing nothing been so addictive. It takes me all the way back to 2002 when I first ventured into the world of Animal Crossing. You can lose hours very easily without noticing them pass.

Now I have to save and quit so that Resetti doesn't chew me out.

I understand the lure of these games.  Sometimes it's nice to just chill.  A lot of other games these days are too intense or there's so much at stake all the time. IT's nice just to... collect shells.... and pay off the landlord.

Now that I'm getting used to the game, I need to get in the habit of keeping my gate open so others can visit.  I plan to play a lot this weekend, so keep an eye out for me!

I need to get this game for my Wife. She loved Country Folk, and I'm sure she would love New Leaf as well.

Man, I can't do those Animal Crossing games. Tongue Out I just don't understand the appeal. I tried the Gamecube one back in the day, but it was just so boring.

I got that one too, found it super cheap at Toys R Us. The main reason I got it was because it came with a memory card. I couldn't get into it either, it just seemed like the whole point of the game was to collect stuff to decorate your house. Maybe there is more too it than that but I didn't play it long enough to find out.

It's the act of collecting everything that is so addictive IMO. The museum alone takes tons of time and patience to build every dinosaur, collect every insect, fish and painting. There's a sense of accomplishment in knowing you got everything because there's a lot of rare stuff that can only be found at certain times.

Then there's paying off and expanding your home and in the new game there's improving your approval level with the citizens of your village.

It's not for everyone but people who like to "catch 'em all" or just want to land that one big fish will enjoy it.

I will get this game eventually, I would already have by now but I couldn't resist the siren's song of the Oracle games being on the eShop.

I have been really tempted to pick up the Oracle games but with everything I have to play on 3DS currently it would feel like gluttony. LOL

I bought Animal Crossing on the DS and Wii and I hadn't touch them.  The only AC game I played for months was the GC version.

I played that one for two years. :O

Towards the end I only checked on my village once a week but still.
