yeah I'm excited too, but I could use a date and the launch lineup.
i hope watch dogs is available day one.

It has been such a crazy week. I have slept far less than I normally would. I have two equally sound theories. One is the fact that I have just moved to a far quieter neighborhood, away from the highway. It is quite possible that I need it to be noisy when I sleep. The other theory is the PS4. I joined Sony's pre-E3 conference just over halfway through. I saw all of the important PS4 related news and pre-ordered one the moment that amazon would let you. Thankfully, I did not wait until morning, because I am sure that the Launch edition would have been gone by that point. I think that the excitement of the PS4 may have interfered with my sleeping habits.
I finished up the majority of Metroid: other M just before I packed up the wii. I will say that I found it to be surprisingly enjoyable, just be sure to turn on the mute when the cut scenes come on. I then worked my way through Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission. I love the gba metroid games so much. I finished Fusion in 2:36 which is a little on the slower side for me. I had not played it in such a long time that I did nearly forget a few things. I then destroyed Zero Mission. I ended up beating it without the screw attack or the speed booster. I nearly got stuck in Ridley because I did not have either one of them. Thank goodness they built the game around breaking sequence. I am now working my way through the Legend of Zelda for the NES on the wii. I hope to have it finished up sometime next week.
I am not quite sure what led me here, but I found myself at gamesindustry.biz and found an article that I found to be quite interesting. The author is talking about why-did-microsoft-do-it, in regards to all of their new policies for the Xbox One. In the end he is just talking about how the future of gaming will be digital and that Microsoft is trying to jump to that point without giving anybody a choice. Or I could be incorrect, and need to read it again.
I am still quite excited for the PS4, but some of that excitement has worn off. I am going to blame the launch line-up for that. If I knew exactly what the launch day games were going to be, I would have even more reasons to be excited. I know that Sony said that Knack, DriveClub, and Killzone would be day one. I am not quite sure about the third party developers. I also would not mind a date, a have a calendar next to my desk that is waiting to have days crossed of them.
I get tired of "the future of gaming will be this" remarks. C'mon, we still have vinyl records! I think "digital downloads" will always be an option and I'm fine with that. However, I don't think it will be the sole way of buying & playing games. It's not like Steam has murdered cds and blurays.
Regardless,sweet blog,Trans!
I do love my vinyl records. In all truth you are right, talking about the "future of gaming" is becoming tiresome. I am sorry that I contribute. In reality we shouldn't be worrying about what is going to happen with the ps5 and xbox two and the super wii u. Those consoles are at the very least 5 years away, and if Microsoft's current model fails, it will not become the future.
Exactly, and Microsoft's current model will only succeed if we choose to accept it. We have the power to choose.
We shall not acquiesce. "We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender" God old Mr. Churchill was a great man. er, sorry what were we talking about again?
Oh yeah, Vinyl Rules! That is all
I know I may come off as paranoid but I don't trust everything IGN reports anymore. Probably because I realize their one of the sites that had a smear campaign against Japanese games for the longest time. Sure, not every Japan game would get a terrible score but COD and MADDEN always got good scores despite their lack of innovation. Yet lo and behold, IGN certainly would rag on Jrpgs for being "Too samey". It's my hypothesis IGN is still somewhat in microsoft's and EA's pockets. (Okay, admittedly IGN has been a tad more "fair" lately. I'll give em that much! lol.)
This is what truly bugs me. Gamers, like us will make a stand, but in the end we are probably a minority at this point. Microsoft will most likely make a lot of money off of the masses who want an entertainment box that just so happens to play COD. IGN has its problems, but I like using them for news, same with kotaku. Not a big fan of the editorials and such.

Don't underestimate the dude bros. They may not be the sharpest tools in the shed but I doubt they're so retarded they cannot see that the Xbone is a sugar covered turd.
Coolsetzer
Yes, Ziff Davis. The company that shut 1up down in the first place. I don't have much love for those peeps but I'm glad I'm at Pixlbit now so maybe what happened was a blessing in disguise.
Other M is definitely a fun game to play, as long as you don't get bogged down by the story and characterization. But I haven't played the GBA Metroids since they first came out. Man, I should revisit those. And since I got Super Metroid for 30 cents on my new Wii U, this would be a good time to finally play Metroid II and then have a run through the 2D games in the series, though I'd probably skip on the NES original...again lol
I still want a wii u, but I do not think that it would go over all that well since I pre-ordered a ps4. Luckily I can still get VC games on my regular old wii.
I wonder if I will be able to beat super metroid in under 3 hours when I pick it up again. It has been quite some time, and I am not sure that I remember everything. It had been a couple of years between playthroughs the last time I picked it up.
I came very close to plunking down 100 bucks to secure a PS4 pre-order at Gamestop. Changed my mind and I'm glad. There is plenty of time. They suckered me in last time and I should know better. It will be a truly sad day for me when all games go digitial. That's why I love this new retro console I bought. The physical nature of everything about it. No one can take it from me with a wee bit of computer hacking.
