Hello Everyone!
So it seems this place is the Hershel's Farm of the post-1upocalypse, as a few have called it! It's good to see people rally behind another site to maintain a sense of community, as I'm sure Ziff-Davis figured that all 1up users would simply flock to IGN's boards. PixlBit seems committed to the idea that the users of the site dictate its direction, and are very open to ways of improving the site - which is an awesome, awesomething thing. I look forward to reading everyone's blogs, as I know a lot of you are quite talented at created fun, captivated content on games both new and old. I'm excited to see how PixlBit evolves, and I love that the mass exile taught Ziff-Davis (which by the way, sounds like a bad porno name) that this community wants more out of a gaming hub than a home page with article links like "Christopher Nolan caught himself in his fly this morning" and reviews for The Vampire Diaries.
I'll probably port my blogs over to here as well; I've been kicking around some ideas for a new one for the past few months, and hopefully something spills out of my head soon!

And you're right, we want all the input we can get to make this community the welcoming home we've always envisioned it to be. Which means that I should probably shelve those reviews for The Vampire Diaries....

Vampire Diaries is bad? I shall shelve my TV review ideas then. I was going to post blogs about Being Human and Arrow. I think I'll just stick to games then.

Hello! Umm, Hershels Farm burned down. I wouldn't use that as an analogy. I'd say we are more like the 3rd season barricaded in the prison. IGN is the evil governor. LOL.

Between pixlbit and IGN it was an easy choice for me. Not that I loathe IGN obsessively but pixlbit seems more warm, friendly, smart, and creative! By the way, props for that picture! Well done indeed!

Yeah, it sucks that ZD shit the site down, but I'm not complaining. When you drop support from a site you own and expect it to do well, it's no wonder they weren't making any profit. That's why I'm not a big fan of mergers and buyouts.
Agreed. My opinion is that when mergers and buyouts occur, there is going to be a conflict of interest between honest opinions/reviews and the rules of the game of corporate monopoly. The worst part is that the suits performing these transactions very rarely have any education on what exactly it is they are buying and selling; only the process of these transactions is on their radar. It's sad when any small business/website/venture has to be bought out or corporately sponsored to simply keep its doors open, let alone when great things end because of spreadsheet calculations.
