Xbox one sold out on Amazon just like the PS4. Both are unavailable at the moment. This proves microsoft still has a chance.
However, I personally will not be supporting MS this generation.

I've seen quite a bit, and contributed to, Xbox One hate these past couple of weeks. From the sound of the internet, it would appear that no one will be buying an Xbone on day one, and that 100% of consumers will be heading over to Sony's shores.
We, of course, know that isn't true. Those are the people I want to hear from, right now. Are you planning on picking up an Xbox One? Are you sticking with Microsoft, or perhaps switching from another platform? If so, what has lead you to that decision?
Looking forward to all replies, and please, let's keep this civil. Check the irrational hate at the door and let's have an actual discussion.
Game on.
I don't think so. Maybe at some point but not now. I want a PS4 but nothing at launch interests me, I'll probably wait till there are more games for it, and maybe by this time next year I'll have 1. That and I have a Wii U and I am more interested in the games coming out for it.
I had a console in my Amazon shopping cart after the MS press conference, because I was almost positive that the PS4 was going to have the same DRM, and the games that MS showed were mighty impressive. I'm glad I waited.
To be clear, I think that the XBO will be a fantastic video game console, and for the people they are targeting, owners should be satisfied. But what I want from a game console I'm getting from the PS4, at least for now.
Not if my life depended on it. The 360 is the last M$ console that will ever enter my abode. I'm not even buying any more games for the 360. If I'm looking for a game and all the store has is the Xbox version I will do without.
As to why, I've only purchased their last two consoles because there were games on them that I wanted to play or my son wanted to play.
There also wasn't any of their current bullshit in regards to, well you know, no point in getting into it. My hatred of Microsoft as a company goes back many years.
As a 28 year IT Vet I've seen them step on many great companies. By having the best product? By giving people what they want? Nope. By telling lies about other companies and spreading FUD.
They've used their huge marketing department to acquire mindshare and convinced corporate executives that they are the only game in town. Yes, if you dump company X we'll give you all this software for free. But is it free. Like a pusher your first taste may be free but then you pay and pay and pay, far beyond what it would have cost you to ignore them. Anyway, I could write a book on the subject but I'll just leave it at that.
I'm going for the PS4, this time round. Not because of the whole DRM sitch because honestly whilst I see the negative connotations it has, it wouldn't effect my gaming experience. Nope PS4 is cheaper and identical in spec and it has all the games I was interested in at e3. Whoever buys Xbox One will have a decent experience of that I have no doubt, it's just not sold itself to me.
A part of me died when my ps3 died. I had a 360, so i saw little reason to replace it. I love the playstation brand and the exclusives. I was leaning towards the ps4 anyways. The press conferences and the kingdom hearts reveal pushed to pre-order it ASAP. of course, the next day they revealed that KH3 was multi-platform.
I am pissed at insomniac's xbone exclusive though.
This is the first time I have seen a console war as much more than a console war. It is a consumer war, and a vote for the One to win is a vote for the consumer to lose.
As a consumer, I do not want something opposed to my values to be given my money, or allowed into my home.
This is coming from someone who recognizes they have a much better exclusive line-up of games for launch (probably due to more publishers liking their DRM policy), and who prefers their controller. It absolutely does not matter. Their consumer policy from 24 hour authentication (yes, I'm posting this online, no our online does not always work perfectly, and in fact just recently went out for a few days) to confusion regarding game ownership paints them as dead on arrival for me.
I can wait for everyone else to find out what does or doesn't work about these systems at launch, and I can wait for just about every non-Halo Microsoft exclusive to inevitably head over to Sony; and probably vice versa. I'll be buying a PS4, and when is the only question (but it will most likely be post-launch).
Am I the only one that seems creeped out by the invasiveness of this device? It's pretty much designed to parole you and record your habits to be sold to advertisers, and you are paying them to let them do that to you. Especially with the relationship between MS and the NSA, I don't want it in my house at all. No I don't use facebook. Yes I know there's nothing you can do about privacy, but a fucking surveillance camera?
I've seen comparisons to Steam and iTunes, but that comparisson is wrong. It's just the principle of the matter that really bothers me. I don't think I will get over it. Sticking with PS4-WiiU and 3DS/PSVita, Steam.
I'm definitely not going to be purchasing the One. Aside from the illogical DRM choices MS had made, and the miriad of problems I could see them causing gamers, the creeptastic, always on Kinect is the coffin nail. Some people say our privacy is already overwhelmingly compromised, and I can't say I disagree with them, but I certainly will NOT vote with my dollar for another surveillance device in my home.
It's s real shame becuase I love my 360 (which I'm happy to see is still being supported for a while yet) however Xbone just isn't an affordable or even ethical concept at the moment, I still kind of want one but that will be someway down the road, If only for Killer instinct!
It's not a console I see myself purchasing, and my 360 is my favorite console this gen, so I'm by no means a fangirl. Many of the reasons I'm not buying one have already been mentioned. My other issue is that Microsoft seems to be moving away from a gaming platform and more to a bizarre computer/cablebox hybrid. I have a computer, I could have a cablebox if I so wished (I don't wish). What I want is a console I can shove a game into and play when, where, and with whomever I choose.
To be honest, though, I don't see myself purchasing a PS4, either. I have so many games in my backlog that I won't have to buy another game for many, many years and I'll still have more games in that backlog.
I think that right now it's too early to decide. I don't think that I should be judging this early, as the companies know what they are doing and I'm sure they will make adjustments based off of what the consumer reaction to the FINAL PRODUCT is. Regardless, I'll be getting a PS4 though because I started the KH series on it, and I intend to end it on it as well.
No, but not for the reasons everybody is up in arms over. I plan on moving to PS4 mostly because they import more Japanese games than MS does, and I think Destiny will be my new Halo / Borderlands title. Early last gen, Microsoft seemed to be very interested in getting Japanese exclusives (see Tales of Vesperia and Lost Odyssey) but they totally abandoned the east after a few years. I kinda feel like it was a bait and switch. If I stick with a Japanese console, then it stands to reason I'll get the lion's share of Japanese exclusives.
