Best Father's Day Ever!

Father's Day was very good for me this year. My son usually does pretty good by me,but this year was just awesome. He got me The Last Of Us,which I'd been waiting for forever it seemed. We spent a good part of the day yesterday playing it. This game is so good you just don't want to stop. You want to see what's around the next corner,in the next building. The characters are so alive you start to care about them right away. It's a lot like Bioshock:Infinite or The Walking Dead in that regard. Got the season pass, which gives you some bonus content and extras.
The game makes you think about your next move all the time. Ammo is in short supply,so you can't just run in all guns blazing. Stealth is required to even the odds a bit before you start shooting. It can be challenging, but I don't find it too frustrating. Just like in Tomb Raider you will die from time to time. But it's just so much fun you don't mind trying the scene again. The story is woven into the action so seamlessly you hardly notice. It plays out like a good movie does.
Speaking of movies,we went to see This Is The End. Been a while since we'd seen a really funny movie and we were in the mood. With all the funny people in it[and some great cameos] it was very enjoyable. All the actors play themselves at a party. The party is at James Franco's house and it happens when the apocalypse begins. The one with fire and demons and stuff. The effects are pretty good for a comedy, btw. But the best part is the funny dialog and interaction between guys who are actually friends in real life. But at the end of the world all bets are off. So if you liked Superbad, you'll probably like this one. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg wrote both.
Then to top things off there was the season premiere of True Blood. It's my favorite vampire show of all time. Of course, there are a lot more than vampires in it now. It's got werewolves, shape shifters, and faeries in it as well. Interesting part is even with all the insanity going on they manage to have some really good storylines going on simultaneously. Had me worried that Bill was just going to kill off some of my favorite characters last night. Fortunately that did not happen. Too much good stuff coming this season for them to die now. So overall it was one of my best Father's Day experiences. We even went out to my favorite Chinese restaurant for lunch. Hope the rest of you Dads out there had good ones, too.
What I'm listening to today.............
