Couple of things I'm excited about

I was thrilled to find out that Namco Bandai  will be releasing a Tales of Symphonia HD collection. It includes the original  game and the sequal Dawn of a New World. It will have the original Japanese voice tracks for both games along with skits and bonus content that were part of the Japanese PS2 version that never made it to the states. The bad news is it won't be out till the first quarter of 2014. But with Tales of Xillia just a month away that could be a good thing.

The other big news item is an interesting device called Oculus. VR headsets have been attempted and failed many times over, but this just might be the first one to get it right. And they have some serious support behind them with a whole list of heavy hitters developing for what is in my opinion the real future of video games. The list includes Team Fortres 2, Minecraft, Half Life 2, Doom 4. There are also some cool originals like Among the Sleep which is described as a sureal first person suvival horror game that puts you in the shoes of a two year old and his teddy bear sidekick. Then there is also Star Citizen a space combat sim-mmo from the creator of Wing Commander. No solid release date or price has been mentioned yet. It could still be a couple of years off, But I'm glad that someone is still determined to make VR tech a reality.

I'm REALLY excited about Oculus Rift.  IT's like all my childhood dreams come true.

Me too, all this crap about voice command and dvr'ing your gameplay, I don't care about that. Give me true immersion in the game world. Give me a set of REAL power gloves that let me pick up and hold things in the digital realm. That is what I want to see in my future video games. The Oculus could just be the tip of the iceberg.

Doom 4 in virtual reality would be insane! I had a Virtual Boy once. My god that thing was horrible lol. It took like 8 batteries and was impossible to get in a comfortable position. Not to mention the hideous migranes that it caused. This Oculus Rift sounds like it is gonna be awesome though.

Yeah I never owned one but I got to try out a demo at target or some place, it was the tennis game. It was hard to play for more then 5 minutes before it got to be painful, lol. The Oculus is looking like the real deal though.

A GameStop employee once recommended my Tales of Symphonia, but I took Final Fantasy 10 instead. The FFX disc was messed up and it wouldn't play correctly. Now I'm looking forward to both HD rereleases!

It is easily one of the best games in the series. Some even call it the FFVII of the game Gamecube. Sadly this ones in my backlog, got about halfway through before my Gamecube died. Never got the sequel so I glad they are including it.

I still Plan on getting the Cube and Wii Symphonia games. I'm borrowing the first but decided to replay Xenoblade

There are so many I have kind of lost track of them all. I need to get back into Xenoblade and Tales of Graces. I just got Dungeons & Dragons Chronicles of Mystara tonight and the Tiny Tina DLC drops Tuesday, so my plate just keeps filling up.

I hope Oculus is the future, that would be cool. Of course, I'd prefer something a bit less gaudy than big ol' binocs, but I'm happy where things are going, nonetheless.

There were some people who didn't think that a VR headset could work and were saying that large scale holograms were the future of immersive gaming. Personaly THAT seems much more expensive and a lot less practicle. Now if they are talking about Star Treck Holodeck tech, that would be impressive.

Oh, for right now, and in this economy that shit ain't gonna happen, but I'd love it down the line. For now though, Oculus Rift is going to be the next evolution I think, and even then I doubt it'll be a massive thing until it's feasible for its price to drop, I'd imagine.
