Flight of the Concords is brilliant. I really hope that Sony's Gaikai service is awesome, because I do not really want to buy another ps3 just to play The Last of Us.
This is no escort mission!

Things are starting to get rough in The Last Of Us. I'm avoiding spoilers at all costs right now,so there will be none here. I will just say this about this game. It is probably the most cinematic game I've ever played. What does that mean to me? Means it's not just a game,it's an experience. At it's core it's a great story of how two very different people bond under extreme circumstances. Two people who come to rely on one another for their very survival. It's brutal and raw,but it's got a lot of heart.
Sometimes you wonder if either one would survive without the other's help. At first Joel treats Ellie like a kid. Won't trust her with a pistol, much less a rifle. But he gets past that very quickly when he realizes how valuable an ally she is becoming. Plus, she's a damn good shot! And gets better as the game progresses. She's a very smart girl who becomes very good at killing. In the world they inhabit that is actually a trait necessary to stay alive. Even if you're just 14 years old. She's had to grow up fast.
Is Ellie gonna have to cut you, fool? Because she will! She's every bit as good as Lara Croft at sticking shivs between some ribs. And in putting arrows into eye sockets from 50 yards out, too. This is a game I don't want to end too soon. So I've been limiting myself to about an hour per night on it. Not one to be missed by anyone. It truly deserves all the praise being written. In other gaming news from my weekend there is this.............
The first NES game I've picked up for my retro console is Skate Or Die. It is nothing like the arcade version, not even close. But for 3 bucks I'm not complaining. It's okay for what it is. The two things I heard about this weekend I liked? Steam now has redeemable cards in several denominations. Like that a lot,I prefer to use them whenever I can. Also heard about the return of Flight Of The Conchords, the comedy duo from New Zealand. They are doing a tour this summer with none other than Dave Chapelle! I used to love both of their shows on Comedy Central,so this was rather cool news. So in honor of that,a couple of songs from FOTC........
