Just wanted to do a quick poll to see if anyone here at Pixlbit still plays GW2?

My wife and I do! Well, I mean, we haven't played in a couple weeks. Well, maybe a month and a half. But dang it, we're not done with that game yet! I can't tell you off the top of my head what server we're on (seems like it was something Terrace) but I'm around the level 28 mark, I think.

Yeah! I'm around level 25 or so. I'm mostly farming for a bit, then grinding to get to the story bits. Would be nice to see other Pixl ppl in game. Thanks for responding!

Also, I got an email update about the game. I don't follow it as much recently, so I was wondering if anyone else new anything? They are supposed to make it so that it's harder to level up through crafting, which is kind of an exploit in the game.  Not sure if this happened yet?

I haven't heard anything but I never spent much time crafting anyway. I know some people love that sort of thing but I it always bores me so fast lol

I just uninstalled it yesterday for space :/ If you still play I'll grab it again and do WvW with you.

I want to eventually finish the game, so I don't think I will uninstall for a while. I was doing a little research on crafting systems, so I wanted a bit of input. I also found out there are novels? I will be digging into this game lore a bit more I think.

I still play, along with my dad. We're very big on Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2. We both have max level characters and run a guild and all that jazz.

Although we are a little unhappy with some changes that ArenaNet has made, overall its still pretty good.

First one is better though :)

Is the first one free to play? Do you think it's worth playing? My server feels a bit empty, and I was considering rerolling on a higher traffic server. What I hate about MMOs is that ppl abandon them after a few months and the world feels empty. What is the easiest way to level? Any tips? I'm barely like LV 25. Glad to find a pro on here! Cool

Yes it is free to play, and there is the first Guild Wars, which is the Prophecies campaign, and then the expansions which are Factions, Nightfall, and Eye of the North. Yeah, I definitely think it's worth playing-the first Guild Wars is a lot fun to solo on, and you don't need a party for anything, because you always can recruit henchmen...and then later in Nightfall, you acquire heroes. Which are basically like your own personal, customizable henchmen.Nightfall and Factions are awesome, but much easier to level in than Guild Wars. Eye of the North is where you first meet the Asura, Norn, and Dwarves. The first Guild Wars focuses on the conflicts between the humans and the Charr, but you only ever play a human until GW2.

I think it's weird that your server is empty....especially with the events that always happen. I usually get thrown into the overflow server when zoning into an area because there are so many people there. ESPECIALLY with the Living Story that Guild Wars 2 is currently doing.

Do you belong to a guild? Because my guild is just like four people who just play whenever, but there are tons of guilds that are focused on certain things, like WvW, PvP, roleplaying, or whatever you want really. I know there's a website you can check to find out about the guilds. There are also the world events that happen, which are set on timers that you can view on a website, so you get a good idea or where to be if you want to participate.

Easiest way to level? In Guild Wars 2, I would probably say the easiest way to level is by completing your dailies and the monthlies. You can view those in the achievement panel on the Hero window. Farming or crafting is also a good way, but I personally think it's the cheap way out, because you don't actually do anything in the world.  Obviously, completing chapters in your personal storyline is a good way to level, too.

In the first Guild Wars, the best way is to farm and kill everything you see. It's very simple in that aspect, but now there's not a lot of people on anymore since GW2 came out, so it's mostly for soloing. Stories are great, though. Everyone has their own personal map when you zone out of a town/outpost, so if you find people or want henchmen, put them in your party.

If you have any questions, you can message me :) I'm happy to help!

I've been leveling faster through crafting and story. I joined a small guild which helps a bit. I like the game over all but I'm not to sure about how the Living World works. Currenty there is a Sky Pirate Event, and then there news of a new Event coming up next week. I'll keep pushing it along.

THere are major updates and events happening every two weeks, and the Living Story is designed to help change the world and events. There will be a bunch of new things introduced a lot the way, I'm actually about to write up an article about the latest news that was just released :)
