A few cool items I found today.

This book is published by Dark Horse. The same company that made the Legend Of Zelda book I showed in a blog once. It's hard cover and the same size, too. I like the fact they are doing these game related books. They did a great art book for Bioshock Infinite as well. Notice how it says Volume One? That's because Dragon Age is gonna be around for a while. More to come...

This is just so cool to me. I used to love watching The Avengers. But mostly the seasons with Diana Rigg as Mrs. Peel. She kicks ass. Accept no substitutes!

This is the game that started it all. Yet as much as I love Metal Gear I've never owned it or played it before. Should be a real blast to see where the lore got it's start.

A plush headcrab! He's just about the size of a baseball glove,so you'd have to have a tiny head for him to latch onto you. The cats are quite freaked out by this thing. Thought he was creepy. In the game they look like roasted chickens that hop around to me.

That's about it. I had to do something to take my mind off the heat. It's just over 100 degrees today. It wears me out because it never seems to let up. At least I get to walk into air conditioned nursing homes for my job. Well....somewhat air conditioned I suppose. Elderly folks get cold easily so some still use the heater in their rooms. Like walking into a sauna sometimes. Hope your towns are a lot cooler than this one.

What I'm listening to today....................................

In the cats' defense, that plush toy is, while cool, pretty freaky lookin'. Those are from Half-Life, right?

Cool comic book covers, too. As for Metal Gear, I got pissed by how far one particular guard could see ... through a bush. Yeah, it's a Metal Gear game, but keep in mind, it's definitely made for the NES area of AAAARGHH! No "cone of shame" sightlines for guards in that one.

First song you posted kinda reminded me of Lion King; I mean, in the shallowest way possible; just a voice coming in through chanting can sometimes make me think "Lion King," even though obviously that style is not exclusive to African or Disney music; but it's definitely got its own great charm, and I liked the staging in the video.

I'm always envious of celebrities that have multiple talents they're good enough with to tour on. I have multiple talents, but I dunno if I could be successful with all of them. Jack of all trades, master of I'd like to think one or two, but maybe not three or four. lol Really liked how her voice matched Martin's banjo, and the lyrics.

Yeah,I've always liked Edie Brickell. Mix in Steve Martin's amazing banjo and you have something special. I foung Metal Gear for ten bucks. I read some reviews that said some of what you did. So it's one that I will take as it is. I'm still getting used to the frustration of NES games again. The nostalgia can only go so far. But this one was a classic,so I will hold on to it. And the head crabs are from Half Life. The sound their host makes is horrible. It's a cross between a moan and a muffled scream. Freaky as hell when you hear it in a dark area.

damn dude those are some nice finds, I don't know where to start. I never got into the old Avengers show, but I saw the movie with Uma.  My dad likes to watch that one for some reason.  The original Metal Gear was a landmark but I could never handle it.  My little brother kicked its ass back in the day though.

that head crab is amazing!

i thought edie brickell was the hottest when I was a teenager.

It was the catsuit that made Emma Peel so hot. That and her attitude. The character of Cate Archer in the game No One Lives Forever was based on her.  I saw that they even make head crab hats now. Don't know if I'd want one of those on my head. Edie Brickell is so laid back. Of course,in the early days of her career she was high a lot of the time,so that could be it.

The nice thing is that the original 2 metal gear games were hidden away in MGS3 subsistence, and apparently the HD collection.

Diana Rigg is the only woman to actually marry James Bond.

That's the main reason I bought Subsistence. Redundance is my middle name. I like having some games on multiple platforms. I forgot that about Diana Rigg. She's on Game Of Thrones now. It's good to see her again.

I have purchased MGS3 in every form so far.  snake eater, subsistence, MGS collection on the ps2, HD, and probably will get the legacy collection for the heck of it.

I'm the same way. Kojima turns me upside down and shakes me til money falls out of my pockets. It's a yearly ritual we have. The more the merrier when MGS is involved, though.

I just recently got into buying classic NES games. They last forever if you take good care of them. I like having physical copies of stuff,so it works for me.

She would kick the asses of a roomful of dudes and look damn sexy doing it! There was no one like her on TV back then.

I've been on a 60s tv kick lately, so I'm finally going to check out a few episodes.

I have the DA book, too! I bought it at the book store as soon as I found it. I just need to read it now. lol There's also an official adaptation of MGS in novel form. Not sure how good it is, though.

I"d try to wear taht crabhead for halloween. It would mean I'd have to not wear my "Rick Grimes" hat but it would be a sacrife I'd be willing to make.
