I've ignored the game for months for some reason. I started playing Star Wars and LOTRO. It's funny that the living world concept has brought up complaints from players because they are temporary, so if you enjoy an event and tell your friends about it, it isn't always going to be there for them to play it. Areanet also plans on adding expansion or events every 2 weeks now, and while it seems like a good idea, som players have brought up the point that it would be better to wait and have fewer major expansions, as opposed to trickling down. MMO players are so hard to please these days. You can correct me if I'm wrong here. I will be logging in more often now while also playing FFXIV beta.
I'm going to start reading the books that are out now. They're pretty well reviewed and a new one came out this week, "Sea of Sorrows" I think?
Guild Wars 2 feelings.

Guild Wars 2 is one of my favorite MMOs to play. I actually have a review on it, if you go to my blog and want to check that out :) I loved the first one as well, along with the sequential expansions. Now, the story of Guild Wars 2 is set 250 years after the events of Guild Wars, and everything is a lot different...which is pretty cool.
Here's the thing with the Living Story. Instead of making tons of expansion packs, ArenaNet has decided on the Living Story concept-having a world that is alive and constantly changing, and the landscape and NPCs will reflect that as well. Now, there are supposed to be additions, which will add more classes and races to play...although this is just a rumor for now. There are areas in the world that you are unable to access, and they will be introduced later in the game's developmental changes. There are world events that happen, and there have been all kinds lately. We had the Dragon Bash ceremony, which had taken elements from Cantha's Dragon Festival (GW Factions), and now there are the Aetherblades. There is also the Flame and Frost storyline, the holiday stories...the list goes on and on. There are updates on the various storylines and how they are changing the world on the Guild Wars 2 website. Another good site to check out is the Guild Wars 2 wiki page.
Now, while this is all very exciting, I wish they would stop changing the skills. Some of the changes are for the better, but I have to get used to my skill effects and change builds. There are also a ton of money sinks in the game, which after a certain point become unneccessary. I hate having to fix my armor, for starters. I just feel like that is more of a role-playing type of thing, and I just want to play the game for what it is.
That being said, the world events are a lot of fun. Except for the new dungeon for the Sky Pirates-I was party-wiped four times in one run and everyone just gave up. There have been tons of complaints after each update....but most of the events, games, and jumping puzzles are good additions.I have a love/hate relationship with jumping puzzles, as I'm sure most of you do as well.
All THAT being said....it's still my favorite MMO. Even with all the issues I have with it. I have max level characters, skill builds, trait builds...I put a lot of work into the characters I have. And I'm proud of them. It's a fun, very social game that for me, is so much better than WoW. Yes, I have played both, but I just wasn't a fan of the mechanics for WoW, and I thought it was too irritating and childish. It's just my opinion though!
Anywho, if you have any questions, let me know!
