Who is Townz90 and why is he defecating my towels!?

Ok so I’ve done the obligatory ‘1UP Refugee’ blog that we’ve seen in abundance here at Pixlbit and I’ve also given a brief history of my past with JRPG’s. However since I’ve decided that I want to blog a lot more, I thought it would be cool to give you guys a quick profile of who I actually am, since a lot of you probably know zilch about me!

So where to start!? Well I’m 22 years old, 23 next month (I know I’m young still but god that’s so depressing to say), live in a large town in the UK called Swindon – with a small town mentality, recent Film and TV graduate from ARU in Cambridge. I’m currently temping in various offices doing mundane admin work until that dream job in London pops up! I’m not really sure what direction I want to go with my life, I want to pursue my dream of a career in the Film and TV industries but it’s so competitive and the constant stream of knockbacks is beginning to grate. I enjoy creative writing of all aspects and would be interested in sharing some of my work with you guys and you with me vice versa.

Casual sports fan; Liverpool FC, Swindon Town FC, New England Patriots are my teams. Abuse me for that if you like. Big music fan, I’ve ripped the following list from my profile page to save time and effort; The Horrors, Ghostpoet, M83, Bombay Bicycle Club, The Maccabees, Justice, Deadboy, Kendrick Lamar, Foals, The Streets & many, many MORE!

I started blogging at 1up a long time ago (when I was around 17) under a different moniker, of which I can’t remember but a few of you have recognised me from those days! I came back about a year and a half ago and have been intermittingly blogging since then. The demise of 1up has spurred me on to start writing more. Here I am, hope you enjoy the journey.

In college, we shared a bathroom with our neighbors in the dorm. About the last week of school I realized one of the neighbors was using my towels and putting them back on my towel rod. Not defecation, but bad enough.

I hated that place.

This reminded me of my roomate in college. One day he came out of our suite's bathroom holding a plunger and screaming "Who ate corn?!" That was the hardest I laughed that entire year.

I don't think i ever had those problems in college here in the US..Though drunk passed out random people in the bathroom wasn't all that uncommon to find on a Friday morning. Though to be fair, I lived in a fraternity house for 2 of my 4 years, and off campus my last year, and into graduate school.

Oh, hey, the Patriots are my team! But I am a New England girl, so it's kinda obligatory. I have an autographed photo of Tom Brady and my old avatar on 1up had me wearing a cap with the old school logo on it.

Not living in the US, I have the luxury of supporting of whoever I wanted. The fact that the Patriots are constantly competing for championships made a change from supporting teams in decline *cough* Liverpool *cough*

I'm considering investing in a Vita and/or 3DS, funds permitting. It seems like the bulk of Jrpgs are on those systems. Persona 4 Golden really excites me!

Worst for me: Some friends and I had a hotel room in DC for some conference we were doing. Guy got drunk and fell on the cooler on the bed. My bed. Did I mention it was a styrofoam cooler full of melted ice. The mattress was soaked through.

We are eerily similar.

As you know I'm also 22 going on 23, I also have a radio and television degree, currently work for the video production end of a company called invodo, love creative writing and music, worked in a radio station that played Bombay Bicycle Club, M83, etc. (KSAU), and though I'm not as big a fan of Patriots, I'm big on the Boston Red Sox.

Of course I'm from Dallas, so my teams are Mavericks, Stars, Cowboys, Green Bay Packers (lots of family ties, parents are from Wisconsin), Texas Rangers, and Boston Red Sox, and Celtics, but seriously I think we'll get along. lol

I missed out on a trip to London in college for media, I still regret that.

I've got a lot of time for people that support their local teams. I try my best to support Swindon Town but the lower echelons of the football league aren't really that appealing.

If you ever get a chance visit London, it's one of my favourite cities..of the few I've visited!
