Some Borderlands 2 tricks of the trade

I have had some Borderlands blogs on the back burner covering weapons and character classes that I will eventually put out. But today I thought it might be cool to offer up some tricks that could be handy for new & semi-veteran players.

First is the golden key trick. This is a useful way to improve your arsenal if drops have been skimpy or you want to sell a bunch of pricy stuff for money to spend at the slot machines. First of all you have to have two controllers and two characters who have made it to Sanctuary. So start your game with the character you DO NOT want loot for. Once you are in Santuary press start to pause the game. Use controller 2 to bring in your second player (the character you DO want loot for). It will give you a warning about using the same profile, continue anyway because it will not effect what you are doing. Press triangle to open the profile load screen and choose the person you want loot for. Once you do this hit circle on controller 1 then X to comfirm you want to bring player two in. Player 2 will spawn with 11 golden keys. You can now loot the chest with player two. You can exit and return over and over and you will get 11 golden keys everytime. Now about the warning. Any loot you get this way must go into the backpack of one your two characters. If you try to stash any of it in your safe or secret stash it will not be saved and will be lost. The keys will not be saved either, use them or lose them.

The other trick has to do with power leveling. So you got a Lv 50 Gunzerker and decided its time to try out the Siren. But you want to get her into True Vault Hunter Mode ASAP . By this point I will asume that you are able to fight Terramorphous and beat him solo reasonable easy. So once again bring in your new Siren and let her sit on the sidellines while you wreck on the giant land squid. You can get her up to level 20 pretty quick and the kicker is once you get her to Santuary she will be sitting on a nice pile of money and eridium. And then you can use the previous method to load her up with gear that is top knotch and to her level.

The last tip is about duping stuff. This is the easiest and most fool proof way and you can even use it  to dupe stuff to your other characters. So start a trade by holding circle. Add the item you want to dupe then select Duel. Have the other person or charatcer select duel. Once the duel begins open the menu on the character who put their gear up, drop these items, you may have to move them to or from your equiped gear to get them to drop. Once you drop them close the menu and have your other character or the other player kill you. When they win the duel the items will be duped to them and you simply go pick up the stuff you dropped. IMPORTANT! Always make sure if your duping for some one else that they know how this works. If they defeat you before you drop your stuff they will win it.

So thats all for today, happy hunting.

Nice tips, on the power levelling one though i take it you can't use both players on the same gamer profile?

EDIT - sorry don't think i explained that very well, if i have one on line profile with a level 50 siren on, can i level up another toon on the same on line profile or would i have to use a second (non online) profile to do it

They can both be on the same profile. The warning you get about saving stuff on the same profile with two characters only really effects the accomplishments that give badass tokens and as I explained putting gear in places other than your backpack. You will get the money, eridium, and the experience. For example I took my Lv 61 Mechromancer out of UVHM and back into TVHM then created a new Psyco on the same profile. He tagged along to the terramorph fight and I got him to lv 13 in less than 30 minutes. Hope that helps.

Another thing I just realized too is the warrior tends to drop more irridium and probably is a little easier that to beat than Terramorphous. Also if your high lv character  is he mech or the commando you can also hang around and milk the exp you get from Rack kills with Deathtrap or the turret. Was doing this last night farming eridium for my mechromancer mule and she jumped from lv 16 to 30 an about an hour of just killing the warrior and letting death trap killing rack for a bit .
