How are you 1Up/Pixlbot? Since I’m in that odd position where I’m still holding on to one page, while continuing over on another, I decided to post this and possibly the next couple of blogs on both sites. Since this is still part of Blog A Day, it’s a short blog so it really isn’t a problem (sorry to those who happen to read the same blog twice)

While I had a some free time this morning, and needed to make a bank trip, I decided to visit the local K-Mart. I really don’t care for this store because it’s dirty, and it feels like it never updated from the 1980s (I went to the Grand Opening in the 80s and it still smells the same) Oh so going back, I went to this store because I read that the Lego was on 50% Clearance. Since I read it on the internet (French Model, BONJOUR!), it had to be YMMV. Well I found a couple of big carts with a bunch of 50% toys, but didn’t notice the Lego cart at the end of the group. There were quite a few sets there, most I really didn’t care for, until I saw the sets I was watching for a month or so. Yeah I grabbed a cart, tossed in the ones I wanted and headed straight for the…price scanner. Yep, this K-Mart, I never trust the sticker price. In the end I picked up

2X Set 9492 Star Wars Tie Fighter

Set 7956 Star Wars Ewok Attack

Set 5885 Dino Triceratops Trapper

Set 5884 Dino Raptor Chase

Set 4434 City Tipper Truck

In total I spent more than I should have ($113) but if I would have bought these at normal prices the two Tie Fighters alone would have $100, so I think I made out pretty darn good. The Dino Triceratops set is one of the sets I was going to buy for $25 at Target before buying the Vita a month ago.

Well back to work, I have a graphic project that needs to be finished. That was my big Lego haul for the day.

Well that’s all for now, more TOMORROW!

-Chris

Man, I haven't been to a K-Mart in probably 20 years at least.  I don't know if there's one in my area, but if they got deals there then you might as well take advantage of them.

K-Mart is one of those funky stores that I'm impressed that they're still open. They might be worth a trip to see if anything else is on clearance.

I can't wait for my boy to be a bit older so he can enjoy Lego's like I did when I was younger (Plus, I'll be able to play with them whenever he starts collecting!!). Perhaps I'll start looking into buying some sets for him now and just giving them to him at a later time

That's a good plan. Start him out with a set here and there, so when he gets a bit older he'd have a good size collection. In the meantime you can try them out too Smile

My bro and I never got the nice Lego sets as kids since we would chunk the instructions and build our own funky monstrosities. Our parents got smart and just bought whatever was cheap and let us go to town. Those are some of my favorite memories. Nice haul on those Tie Fighters.

Thanks! I like how random toys and what not can bring up cool memories. The Tie Fighters are a steal, and it's a real nice set!

I might have to hit my K-Mart up. Love me some Legos! Dino sets look decent.

The Dino sets are cool. Originally I just wanted the dinosaurs, but the actual sets are not bad. I regret not picking up the base set at Target when it was in the clearance asile now, especially since I'm probably one or two sets away from completing the series.

As soon as I read this blog yesterday I headed over to Kmart and picked up a tie fighter, a cool lego creator motorcycle and two of those mini star wars sets with the planet.  I almost got a sith infiltrator, but the box was open on both ends and was missing half the legos and one of the instruction books.

Looks like you made out like a bandit! I hate it when you find a set and then realize someone opened it.
