Google's neverending quest for world domination continues...

I read an article yesterday that said Google is planning to jump into the game console market. With a small console along the lines of the Ouya, also being an Android-based device. Here's a question...does anyone realize the Ouya was released? Seems like I haven't heard a peep about it as far as reviews go. I think it's selling okay, but does anyone really get excited about it? Strange...

In other news,I heard on the radio this morning that people were shooting fireworks at cops and firefighters in north Tulsa last night. They lured them in with fake calls and opened up with not only bottle rockets, but the big exploding mortar shells as well. And this was the second year in a row it's happened. One group of firefighters were on a roof fighting a very real fire last night and caught a barrage of mortar shells aimed at their heads. What the hell is wrong with people? I think some tasers need to be applied to those idiots next time. And right in the groin as well!

What I'm listening to today......................

I believe in the idea of Ouya -- the open console -- but not so much in the execution of it.  Still, I've considered getting one.  But I can already play all those games on my iPad.  I think if Google did it, they would have more success.

It's going to be worth a look. Google has some brilliant people,so let's see what they come up with.

The reviews haven't been good.

Only one I had heard was Adam Sessler. He said it was terrible. To put it mildly!

I won't know how I feel about the google console until I see it in action. As for the Ouya, it's already been out awhile! I thought about getting one but at the same price I could probably get a wii. (Which I sort of want a bit more)

I only recently bought a Wii. I love it and also the fact I can find games for it dirt cheap.

Yeah, Ouya seemed like a weird sell to me, like it was basically an emulator box, and I wasn't really convinced otherwise, but I haven't seen much on it since IGN's unboxing.

I think Google would have more luck, but we'll see. They're brilliant, but that doesn't always mean everyone under a large company has the most brilliant ideas 100% of the time, though they're obviously very respected.

As for the fireworks dipshits, who goes after fire fighters in the middle of doing their jobs? Low.

Never really got the Ouya doesn't sound like something i would even bother with neither does a Google console, i would rather get a sure thing. As far as the firefighters go they should arrest these shits and throw the book at them.

I don't understand what is wrong with some people.  Shooting fireworks at cops and firefighters is pretty stupid.  As for Ouya, I got one so I can easily play emulated games on my TV.  it works pretty well for that.  It takes up so little space, which is nice.  Can't wait to see what indies do with it.

I was just at Gamestop today and saw a rack of Ouyas. I didn't know Gamestop was selling them but there they were. I read a review that the controller is not too great and that most of the games are not good. However, $100 is a sweet price and better games might appear. I'm waiting for that must play game that's exclusive to the system. I somehow think it might not come though.

I'm not real big on the the android based gaming system. My tablet is good enough for any android games i play. Perhaps if I'm curious and have some money to burn I might give it a thought.
