Tactics Ogre:Playstatons finest and a Tactical grindfest

So I have been on a tactics game playing spree asof late, and one thing about Tactic Ogre you had better be ready to do is grind, and not a little but hours and hours of it, now by any means dont me wrong grinding is easy in this game and if you ever play it heres a little grinding tip for ya.

So first off go to edit troops and remove all armor, weapons, and anything else thats equipped then go to training and divide up your troops equally, and set the conrol to computer start the game then go watch tv or have a sandwich and keep doing this till there at higher levels. This works good and makes short work of grinding.

And then once you get to the in game battles your more experienced and battles are way more easier which make life more bearable, this is a long game and will take a very long time to beat, but is very challenging and the kind of game you will learn alot of strategys with, i am so amazedat the value this game retains and although the psp version is really good, it pales in comparison to the SNES and PS1 versions, and with a $80 price tag for the ps1 version its still worth it to this day,

So im on chapter 3 and keep in mind i have been playing for about 4 months and alot of my time was spent grinding but like i said you can do it like said and really dont have to do much else then setup the fight after that go about your affairs and check on it every once in a while, this is a massive game and will require along time to complete, and the story is really good, and goes in short like this. For eighty years, Valeria has been in constant strife, and its three leading ethnic groups all claim leadership. King Rodrick, aided by the forbidden powers of the "Palace of the Dead," is able to dominate the people of Valeria until Dorgalua of Bakram successfully leads his army to defeat Rodrick. So this is the jist of the opening point in the game and let me give you a word of advice listen and follow the story its indeed very good and if you miss any of it it will become confusing. Another fact about this game alot of you may not know is that Tactics Ogre is the game that sterted the Tactics genere, every other Tactics game git this from this game. The gamepkay is intermixed with expisitional cutscenes revealing the plot, shown in the same isometric veiw as the battles. Movement and team management between battles are done thriugh a map interface.

This is the best game i have EVER!!! Played and is worthy of the $80 purchase to this day, now i dont know much about the psp version other then its very good as well, but this game is the granddaddy of tactical based games.

I have Final Fantasy Tactics War of the Lions. I don't really have the patience to get into it much though Tongue Out. Is this similar?

Yes matter of fact this game is what gave Square Enix the idea for Final Fantasy Tactics which is my second favorite game of all time.

I always preffered March Of THe Black Queen on the snes and I can't even really tell you why. lol. I have this for the psp and it's just really REALLY hard. (Even moreso than its' predecessor) Er, "Let Us Cling Together" is a remake of the playsation version, right? Hopefully I'm not being an idiot!

No your not an idiot lol!! It is infact a remake but not as big as the snes or playstation version and the way to make it less hard is to grind 3 or 4 levels before proceeding this will avoid getting in a tough battle with you way under leveled.

Do you know how the various versions of the game differ? I've heard that the original(s) are very good but that the PSP one is the best version to date, though I admit I know none of this through my own experience.

Only cause they updated graphics and fixed some typos.

I'm still working my way through Fire Emblem on the 3DS, lol. I'm so slow.

Oddly though, I've been having a craving to play some Final Fantasy Tactics as of lately. It's by far my favorite Tactical RPG, I just love it!

Now I know why they keep this game in the special glass case at Vintage Stock. They sell it for about 80 when they get a copy, too. Kind of legendary to them and with good reason from what you said about it.
